i posted this crap to try and have a peaceful look at the cobalt vs. mustang rather than just bashing the stang and proclaiming myself king of th world. and i wasnt going to be a dick, like many of the guys have said the other cobalt guys on here are. well looks like not only cobalt drivers are the only asshats on here, there wasnt any problems until you posted your dumbass comments. hey at least you confirmed that you are a fool, and laid any doubts to rest.

are you friggin serious???? way to pick out those 3 things, did you not read the rest of the words, where i was giving a number of compliments to the mustang? how is saying the cobalt has ***** for a 4 cylinder a bold statement, name a handful of 4 cylinders as quick as one. and the third thing you quoted wasnt even directed towards any specific group of people, my gosh man, way to take words out of context.

 

Then who were they directed to? I read the entire post...and it was quite redundant. Like I said this war was done. Peace and tranqiulity had been restored...there was no need to revisit this topic. After all you did dig into the archives didn't you? Do think that you can change the opinions of those who dislike the Cobalt? Do you think you can change the overall perception of the Cobalts performance? The last Cobalt thread was like 13 pages long. Enough is enough...let it die..

i think i can speak for 90% of the mature Mustang owners on this site (not jsut stang owners, mature people in general)

the Cobalt SS

for a small, economy based, performance car, it is quick. i think that a mid to high (though tend to be more highs than mids) s/c 4cyl is neat.....i KNOW i would have taken one as my first car

however, it is posts/users such as CodySS/the whole ION Redline forum thread, that make Mustang owners upset..NOT defensive...

as for a 99-04 vs SS

dig is easy for the GT,, its CLOSE from a roll, and i honestly think that a manual driven GT will win,, the auto, i gues it depends on where you go from

I've mentioned plenty of times before that I think the Cobalt is a pretty decent car for what it is. I think mid to high 14's stock is prett darn quick for a stock car, and yes it is stock since the S/C came with the car. With the Stage 2 from GM and exhaust, I can see high 13's possible, but stock for stock, a 99-04 Mustang GT w/5spd vs. Cobalt SS/SC with 5spd, a Mustang is gonna win from a dig everytime aslong as he does miss a shift, now from a roll, it will be alot closer, but I think the Stang will still get the win by a car or two. I have the utmostrespect for the GM Ecotec engine as I used to have one in my old car, it has gobs and gobs of potential. But if you would have read the Saturn forums and seen what they were saying, you too would have thought it was b.s. I mean one guy said he ran a 14.7x, and never lost to a 99-04 GT, and I think one even said he beat a Cobra. From what you run in the 1000' and what a Mach 1 runs stock, I really dont see how you won, even the auto Mach 1's stock run 13.5-13.8. Welcome here, and I see you've been registered since March, but anyways enjoy your stay.

ehh, i just think the previous cobalt members here just gave it a bad name... it's a quick little 4banger, i have nothing against em' ...but hell, my DD is a ZX3 and i enjoy it, so i'm not a reference
