Pulled On a Trailblazer SS!
O.K. i'd like to see that race again! My user name here might say "newbie" but i'm not new to the gearhead world or mustangs.I have both a 91 5.0 lx and a 2006 TB SS.The mustang won't touch the SS.I'm a big mustang freak, but when I test drove a new SS TB I had to have one.My stang is an aod car w/shift kit and 3.55's + the usual throttle body, mass air,155 pump, pullies, headers and full exhaust.Fun car to drive but nothing compared to the SS.
I'm not trying to dog you or your car, just not to sure whoever you were running against new what they were doing or what the SS was capable of.My buddy has a 1995 COBRA 5spd(GT-40 motor)w/full exhaust and he can drive, but he can't hang with the SS!
Technology now days is unbelievable,I also have an 03 6.0L powerstroke diesel on 12" lift and 44's that only has exhaust,CAI,and programmer to put it around 475 HP and it smoke a stock 5.0.
So those that think your gonna pull away from an SUV or big lifted truck be careful there's always someone faster!!!

it probably was in desperate need of a tune up, and it was an AOD. big difference between that and full tune up and bolt on.

Just so you know the TB SS's are running 13.86 to 13.98 depending on 2wd or AWD bone stock. an 89-93 5.0 w/all the bolt-ons are maybe a high 13.90's low 14's on street tires.(There are exceptions i've seen stock 5.0's in the mid 13's on slicks)The stang I have now is my 14th 87-93 5.0,so I know what there capable of.If you have more than a few bolt-ons like cam, heads etc.you probably could beat an SS!
Also the 95 cobra is a mechanics car w/47,000 original miles on it,there's nothing wrong with it.Believe me he'd like to think the same!

was not as impressed with the ss trailblazer but the ss monty is a bad beast but is very hard to keep control of being a fwd v8(but might be the slower of the two)

my moms got a Trailblazer....
Thats a big SUV, i raced my buddies 1999 Z71 one night, i beat him in it and he's got a 5.3 in it, which is about a 327. So i guess they're pretty fast.

i disagree about heads and cam. a stock 5.0 can easily run high 13s with a good driver and gear and exhaust. especially mine being a notchback, with quite a few bolt ons.

What's done to your car? have you had it at the track? If so what are your #'s?I know the coupes are about 200 lbs. lighter,I've had 9 of them.Gears and exhaust is not a stock 5.0!
