Default 2-1

so im new to the forum and had some kills and one loss

so i had my 1999 mustang gt for a total of 72 hours before someone wanted to race. it was a brand new 6.0 liter GTO. this is my first stick so i had no idea how to launch. so he takes off and it was a total catch up game for me. never did catch him.

so after that i spent about 3 days practicing launches before i got the hang of it. on my way to a friends house another GTO pulls up next to me and this time i was somewhat ready. we gun it and this time i pull in front and just hang onto the lead b4 the next stop light. he smiles and i tell him he has a nice car.

so today my friend who has a '91 turbo supra decides o lets race. so we pull up to a stop light. no contest i win by atleast 4 car lengths. so we do this a couple more times and once where i was stopped and he was comin up behind me and he pulls infront i catch him in a second and blow past him.

all in all i like this mustang. i had a '92 camaro, i dont know which i like better yet. lol

Nice kills and death. What year was that second GTO you raced, LS1 or LS2? Either or he should have beatin you, especially since your new to the GT and 5spd. The LS2 run low 13's stock and LS1's run mid to high 13's stock. Probably just a ****ty driver in the GTO, but nonetheless, nice kill. Turbo'd Supra should have given you a better run, probably just another case of ****ty driver or poor condtioned car. Welcome to the forums.

Can you really tell between an LS1 and LS2? Anyways, was there 2 little scoops on each side of the hood? If there was than it was an 05, but if not it would be the 350hp LS1, or it could have been an aftermarket hood. As I previously stated, both the LS1 and LS2 GTO would beat your 99 GT, unless you have some mods.

that hood was offered in the 04 the best way to tell is the exhaust. Dual exhaust for 05+ and single for the 04s. And i doubt you can hear the difference in a LS1 versus an LS2.

Yeah, I can't hear the difference. And I believe you could order a "dual exhaust" kit for the LS1 Goat as well, though I dunno how many people have gone through the trouble. The hood swap is more common I think.
In any case, good kill.

Here is my tail end. O6 rear and exhaust but I'm an 04LS1. This mod is better for less interior drone when you mod the car because the 04 mufflers sit under the passanger compartment!

04's have dual exhaust also...the pipes just exit at the same left rear.

Nice goat doc...the wheels look good on it too
