I was in my 92 LX following my wife home from a cruise-in Saturday night on a 45MPH limit road when this kid and his friend in a Cobalt SS comes flying up behind me. I slow down a little while He repeatedly falls back then flies up to my rear bumper and slams on the brakes. Then on this 2 lane on double yellow, the guy tries a fly-by. I just dropped to third and prevent his pass very easily and put 8 to 10 links on him (my wife saw what was happening and took off to give me room). When we get to where the road widens and pull to a stop light, he pulls along side and asks if I want to race. I asked him if he really thought he could beat me. He replied "maybe not now, but I will *******" and then proceeded to turn right from the right center lane and buzzed off through a red light.

I wanted to chase the guy down, but figured better of it and the guy was fiarly young to boot, so i let him go.

Can I count that one as a kill?

i've had guys like that pull up next to me at a light. But, my last experience was with a old civic hatch back. He pulled up and asked if i wanted to race and i said "do you have a turbo or supercharger" he said "no" so i just said i didn't want to waste my time. Then he got all nuts on the road and ran a red light.

 

Only an idiot snott nose punk kid would pass on a double yellow. Nice kill 4stangs!!!!

You did him a favor. I do the same thing. I will accelerate if an idiot attempts to pass me over a double yellow, that in turn will cause him to immediatly fall back in the LANE THAT HE BELONGS IN anyway. If there was another car coming the other way it's a 50/50 chance that oncoming car will move in your lane. Iv'e done some dumb things in my youth but that was not one of them.

 

you certainly like your cars, never had that happen, but i never thought i would have to pass in oncoming lanes, until saturday, when i had to, it was weird, in my own sort of way. Btw saturday, we went to Barona for the drags, and there was this POS civic hatchback which looked rediculous with its deflated slicks in the front, but the thing ran a 7 in the 8th mile, suprised the f*** outta me.

 

yea, i hope the kid wises up before he gets himself or someone else killed. It was obviously a fairly new cobalt SS, red with the little wing on the back. Nice car for a youngster, but I hope the guy realizes how dumb he was pulling a stunt like that.
