I am a hardcore V8 American muscle car guy, but there was something about the STI that made me want one. For ***** and grins I test drove an '06 back in March and less than a week later I had this:
All I have done so far is a Cobb stage 1 tune, but I think the little bastard really moves out. And once I figured out how to slip the clutch for a good launch, it takes off like a bat out of hell. But what really gets me is how I can take turns doing 3 times the suggested speed limit and the tires don't even squeal. Best handling car I have ever driven, hands down.
I love my Mustang, but I love my STI too. My wife thinks it's ugly as sin and she broke my ***** for buying it, but the bottom line is it's mine.

Read the first link. Original poster admits he is an inexperienced driver, thus he runs 9.0. Most of the users who post in that thread at least run an 8.5. Excellent drivers pull even lower times, usually around an 8.3-8.4. Did you think I made this up? I have no reason to lie. Average drivers really do pull 8.5s. An inexperienced driver will stay in the 8.9-9.2 range. But seriously man, it took me like 30 seconds to pull these threads up. Like I said, its probably a combination of inexperienced drivers and a poor track in your area.

WTF...83.58mph in the 1/8 and 104.35 in the 1/4??? Either he's lying or running in 64 degree weather at 0ft over sea level[8D]...
Hell I read a post from some guy on those forums claiming he pulled 1.4 60' times bone stock and on stock rubber[sm=laughat.gif]...
