Default Trans Am...

My friend has a Trans Am. I dont know much about Trans Am's, so I am not sure how fast it is. It does not have the Ram Air hood, and it is an automatic. How fast are these things?

Do you know what year it is?
If it's one of the late model's '98-02 they generally run 13.3's- 13.8's.

for all intent and purposes.. to prevent yet another war of internet words... we'll try to make it simple

a 93-97 Camaro/Firebird is equipped with the LT 1... that car, bone stock, against your car as it sits now is a VERY good race,, both cars are capable of a 14.0-14.2 time bone stock

a 98-02 Camro/Firebird is packing the LS1... those cars against your car, well, its sort of like racing your car against a stock 96-98 GT... ugly, from a roll or a dig

Yeah, his has the LS1, and I knew those were faster, just didnt know how much. Since it's stock and an auto, would it probably run high 13's then?

Refer to my sig and my recent thread in this forum for real-world numbers. My car is mechanically identical to a Trans Am, unless he happens to have 3.23 gears.

93-97 trans am / camaro LT1 and runs high 13s low 14s and 99-04 vs LT1 = drivers race.

98-02 trans am / camaro LS1 and runs low 13s. if he got 3.23s then he will definetely run low 13s doesnt matter if he has auto.

if you wanna race him go race him for fun but expect him to murder you! by the way, if his car is 01-02 trans am then he is probably putting down with that auto tranny at least 300-305rwhp!

Being an auto is not a disadvantage, at least not as much as it is for the Ford AODE. The GM 4L60E is a good trans.
