If he is talking about a crown vic, unless its something other departments dont have, I would be the first to say he is feeding you a line of crap. Those cars die at 120. Most are speed limited to 120 (yes, even the cop cars, the OLDER one's were limited at 130 or unlimited). The reason for this is they have a long drive shaft and even the aluminum police issue one is prone to vibration after 110 or so with those 3.27's and 3.55's. (When I have my Vic i spent a lotta time researching the buggers, although mine was solid up to 120ish, but I had 3.27's...fickle world I guess).
Those Crown Vics (and Chevy Caprice cop cars) are sloooowww. A cop I know from my local F-body club tried to race me from a light the other day in his Crown Vic police cruiser; you could hear him getting on it but he was barely pulling away from me and I was at maybe half throttle. I was laughing too hard to even drop my right foot any harder.[sm=smiley36.gif]
