Most of that wasn't directed toward you, you can actually form basic sentence structures. Compared to a lot of your "padners" I'm impressed.

 

Okay, I'm done being negative about mustangs, As I have said before I used to have a 5.0 and now my wife has a 2001 cobra. I joined this forum so my wife could read the racing stories and get an idea of other people's experiences racing certain cars so she would be a little more educated when something pulls up beside of her and revvs up at a light or wants to "go" on a highway. Since I had a 5.0 I went and checked out the forum and someone had a question like "what do I need to beat a 300zx tt?" and people were telling him if he's a good driver he will win with no problems and I had to call BS or that kid was going to get embarressed. Then people started calling me a ricer and bashing the 300zx tt so then I started bashing mustangs and everything got outta hand. From a stop her cobra is faster and would win in a short distance race but if the race is long enough I would easily pass her. On a highway from a roll there is no way that cobra could ever pass me if I didn't want it to. So basically the mustangs are tough to beat in a drag race with their torque. Now in our garage we have a 2001 cobra which is perfect for in town racing or short distance racing and my 300zx which is the high performance top speed car that is geared very high. So we have the best of both worlds within $$$ reason.

 

BTW nice Z gino. My Z is getting painted right now but I will post pics when I get it back.I don't own a digital camera but I can use my freinds.

the 2001 Cobra only makes around 320FLYWHEEL hp i believe, how does she beat you in a shorter distance race?

I make that kind of HP at about 13.5 - 14 psi of boost. If I am constantly shifitng gears from a take off I don't have time to hit that much boost but once I hit 3rd gear I can hit that boost for a long time through 5th gear which by then I'm playing catch up. So thats why short distance races are not a strong point for those cars.

 

I guess I'm not following. Why are you shifting gears all the time? Wouldn't you be making the same amount of boost at the same RPM no matter what gear you're in?

 

NONE of it was directed at you, I was just wondering where all the new people came from all of a sudden. You seem like a educated person, I cannot say the same for the other 300Z owner around here.

sidewayz4.6- thats my best friend since i can remember lol. Its his moms car, he has a blue+white chevelle drag car, and an orange charger drag car, just so happened to be driving the Monte that night lol. And the red one on the other side is an NA
