I do however feel that dhett is being yelled at for defending himself. If you notice this thread was created by JD1969, not dhett. Someone calls him out, he comes in and defends his car (poorly) and then the admin YELLS AT HIM for doing so. Whats up with that? Amanda... discipline JD1969 for creating this thread which you HAD to have known was going to start another model vs model war of some sort...

Of course he came to this site because of his wife's mustang, but in this thread, people who live on "this turf" aren't worried about his mustang, they're worried about his 300Z.

Actually, if you want to use that comparo... Subarus version of the Skyline is the WRX, since well... the Skyline has been out much longer than the WRX and all.

 

I've read other posts of dhett96 off of this one where he's bashing mustangs and basically flaming... not just here. So, JD1969 had every right to ask for prove... he didn't flame him, he just asked for proof... everyone's responses starting the bashing... but none the less... dhett96's responses almost everywhere have been mean and hateful to Mustangs... bashing those who own them. That's not tolerable on a Mustang site.

Actually Moby one of his first posts was "No Mustang no matter what the mods will ever beat a 300ZX." Thats what started this all off. I'm pretty sure it was like his 2nd post. So regardless. He started all this. In fact I've never seen someone get flamed so fast in my life.

For the record, I'm not worried about either of his cars. I can't wait to see his 300ZX with the stalker body kit and boomin system. 500 extra lbs. should make that thing even faster!

 

Well yeah, in this thread when you're being called out, would you sit there and try to be civil about it after not seeing the thread until a few hateful posts have been splashed across the forum? I'd probably lose my cool too.

So all the moderators on here waited for 7 pages and the Admin for this insane topic to be stopped? What's the point of the moderators if they aren't going to rid the site of this topic at the first sign of flowing BS? On top of that, how could anyone NOT know what this was going to turn into??? It takes two to tango and disciplining the guy with the different make only tells all the guys with Mustangs that "hey we can do what we want because this is our board."

Mustang owners on this site say hateful things about Mustangs. In nearly any LT1/LS1 vs Mustang thread in the lounge or racing sections has turned into an LS1 worshipping thread. (ask 98ls1 and his avatar)

Isn't that ironic, Mustang owners bashing Mustangs on their own turf by their own people? Yet, no one else can do it or it turns into 7+ pages of dribble.

Point is... people wonder why I get frustrated on here when they bash on Honda and whatnot, and then turn around and get mad at people for bashing on Mustangs... it's the same thing and no one realizes it. But the difference between me and most people on this board is I like Mustangs... AND most Hondas. Not to put myself up on a higher pedestal than they are, but I think that gives me the right to bash Mustangs, but doesn't give them the right to bash on Hondas, persay.

Isn't that the reason why this thread is 7 pages now? Everybody has opinions and everybody is entitled to them, however I do think that there is a right way to state an opinion, and a wrong way. So dhett still has to learn the finer points of using the English language to his advantage, but no one is perfect.

This really isn't that big of a deal though. I think it's time for this thread to be closed so it can die a painless death.

 

See, you missed the whole point. This thread went on and on because everyone thought this guy was a tool. He made some outrageous statements and most of us would like some proof. All JD did was call him out and challenge him to a race. If I had made those same statements and some one called me on them...You bet your *** I would go race the guy. He just looked like an idiot.

So I don't see how this thread as gotten out of control. I didn't close this thread because I didn't feel that it was getting out of hand. Besides, when I do something like that, people like you, Digital Venom (God rest his soul) and NomoCobra like to point out how I'm the thread **** and I should be removed. So until I see something like threats and name calling, I'm not going to close the thread. There is nothing wrong with having a little fun with a **** talking noob.

Your situation is different. You have admitted numerous times that you are here to correct the misinformation that people spread about imports. Therefore people give you a hard time. Turn this around...Change your name to 2000 4.6GT and go to a Honda forum and bash them...Even a little. You'll last about 18 seconds. (Anyone catch the pun?) So you really don't catch half the **** you deserve here. You point out the dumbest **** (Like "That lil V6 makes more power than your GT, so show some respect.") Do you not really think that irritates people? It's all about the way you come across. Try taking a different tact and stop trying to change the world. What do you care if someone says Honda's won't start on a warm day? Yeah, misinformation, but who gives a ****? I see bad info about Mustangs all the time, and I blow it off. Who cares? I'm going to wake up tomorrow and still not be a dumb as that guy...See my point? Don't take everything so personally.
