His car feels like I could get out and run faster. I was so unimpressed with its performance. Maybe I am just spoiled by my other 2 cars. I have never been in a six cyl Mustang so I can't compare. I know the new sixers are pretty peppy, but if people are saying that it's neck and neck with a 99-04, then I feel sorry for the V6 Mustang.

Why did you ask if a 99-04 v6 could beat a 3000GT SL if you dont even have a v6? Who is racing your brother? What other cars do you have that your so spoiled by?

I'm at work so it doesnt show the pics in peoples sig, it blocks them. Some gay work privacy policy that blocks half the websites online and like I said the pics in your guys sigs. I think he should race a v6 Camaro, bout the same performance as a v6 Stang and its a CHEVY.

Tranny isnt the problem, its the differential. The VR4 is not the most reliable of cars, but its not a total bitch either. Usually its clutches/differentials that die. I know a guy with one that added an MBC and something else (CAI..? it was minor...) and was trapping 103 and running low 13's all day in it. They are neat cars.

If its a 5spd those run about a 15.4-5 stock. i don't know what new edge v6s run but I would imagine it could beat them with a good driver. Why did he buy an SL? I hate people that buy the cheap/slower version because they hear that the other one is "unreliable." If properly maintained those cars can last. That 6G72 is a pretty stout motor and the tranny isn't supposed to be as bad as people make it out to be.

many years ago i had a friend that had the sl 3000gt...thought it was the ****. another friend had a v6 dodge daytona. they raced and the daytona won by at least 3 cars....they switched drivers with about the same result. they are good looking cars imo but they are slow. the vr4's can be beasts but there's not a strong aftermarket for them in the states so you won't see many. a few years ago a local guy had a 11 sec tt stealth which is basically the same as a vr4
