I know that there are plenty of GT's that can beat me, just none that are close to stock. My car is nearly stock except for 3" turbo back exhaust, intake, Walbro 255 HPFP, and port/polish TB.
I don't doubt that you could take me in a straight line drag, but that is not what my car is set up for.
My car is pretty much stock to... rods a bit longer... a little bore... but, hey... if you like racing from 40-50, i'll take that challenge too... [8D]
I think he likes racing around turns....

You ever get any pics/vids of your car? I'd love to see a daily driven 408 carb'ed motor. That's definately something you NEVER see. Good selection of heads apparently, your tq nearly matches the hp.
My Dad is putting one in his 67 coupe. 408ci, main girdle, scat 4340 forged crank, 4340 rods, AFR185 CNC heads, the list goes on...

it's called camber. it aids in fast cornering/turning. you'll notice lots of race cars have it. some more than others.
Yea. I have about 2 degrees (each side) on the front of my car. I looks like something is broken, but man that thing handles.

good luck on your quest...but you must be racing v6 mustangs or you're talking something other than drag racing if you rarley lose in your mildly modded 2nd gen rx7...slow

Pretty much any 05-06 GT will beat you in a straight line, and I wouldn't be surprised if some of the previous gen did too.

Because, as you said, your car isn't set up for straight lines. Especially since you don't have any kind of aftermarket boost control.

Cool auto-X pics though ^_^

so wait your car runs in the 15s stock maybe HIGH 14s with PRO driver and just with the stuff you listed you think that you've went a hole sec of 2 in the 1/4 faster. I don't think so. i'm assuming you have a 86. I just looked it up and it said like 15.2 or something.
