Default 04 GT vs 79(?) Fox

So I raced a Fox that sounded MEAN... talked to him and he said the cam was a .592 lift, .211(ish) duration, 2.73 gears in the rear still... he had some slicks that were worn...

Owner wasn't driving the fox, he didn't heat up the tires before the start (I did to get the dirt and crap off)... We think he broke the eaton posi at the launch and couldn't get off the line for sh*t.

We raced a bit short of a 1/4 mile (oncoming traffic [&:]) and I ended up about 2-3 car lengths ahead of him (!!!)... I sprayed off the line and was DAMN surprised I got him... everyone was telling me that as long as I got him off the line I'd have the win. So I had a flawless launch on the spray and I was gone I'm sure over 100 he would have reeled me in, but we didn't have the space. Guess that full tank of gas came in handy off the line [8D]

I have a video I can post up but you won't get much more out of it than sound because my camera man (FastLane034) didn't point the camera sideways to see the fox... But it's a pretty good sound clip. Let me know if any of you want to see it... I'll probably be running them again tonight [&:] (bharsen GET DOWN HERE! The guy with the talon that you raced is in the group, he didn't blow it up, he just hit fuel cut).

Should that be 311 advertised duration? If so, I'm surprised you could even see his taillights.

Wins a win, though. Good job.

He said it was a real short duration, it was .2something low... Didn't discuss it much because he didn't tell me till just before the race

Video here

For it to be loping that much, either he sucks at tuning or he's in the 300 degree range without much separation. My 238@050 doesn't lope that much (286@006). If the lift he gave was even accurate, that thing should have been a beast in that light of a Fox.

I know it wasn't driven to it's potential... if the guy who owned it was driving it, it would have been much different (I bet he would have destroyed me). Between stock gears in the rear, not heating the tires and "clutch spin" (or just basically not being able to get traction... we never figured out what went wrong), he couldn't get off the line... which is how I got it
