I have a 99 v6 and just raced a guy in a '01 mustang v6 but he had an automatic. I won the race but at the beginning my tires were spinning and his didnt really. What am I doing wrong?

 

Nothing, launching a 5 speed will normally spin more than an auto. There is nothing wrong with a little wheel spin because it helps you get in your powerband quicker. Obviously you don't want to spin too much though.
