yeah it would.. let me rephrase that... a PROPERLY drivin SRT8 (with 425bhp) will run a low 13.. imo, track runs are meaningless unless you know the driver. Maybe he wanted to get use to it on the track?? heck, i've seen srt10 vipers run in the 13's on the track - pitiful but i've seen it. 9999 times out of 10000, a Srt8 ANYTHING will beat a new edge GT... It's the R/T's that should give the GT's no problem.
