13.8 bone stock...good job, that is the lowest ive seen yet for a 2006 monte carlo ss.[sm=gears.gif]

thanks...on the same day i ran that i saw a guy with an 06 grand prix gxp (same ls4 engine as me) run a 13.6 something at 103. These engine's are fast and they only get faster once they get a good tune on them. i only wish they came with a 5 or 6 speed manuel instead of this 4 speed auto. That and torque management really hold this thing back...

15s stock? 180hp 4000lb boat with MAYBE 160rwhp?

they're lucky to see 17's

i owned one and they could NEVER see 15's with the 305

i like montes though because u can fit big engines and build them up pretty cheap

ive seen an LS7 in 1 running low 11's all motor
I had an '84 SS that was completely stock that regularly outran '84 & '85 Gt's as well as several '84 L69 5spd TA's and Z28's. Never ran it on a strip but beat one '84 15th Anniversary TA that regularly ran 14.9s by about half a carlength. I think back then, the GM engines had a lot of variation in them as a buddy of mine also had an '84 (his was blue, mine was white) and I had no problem walking him anytime. Mine even sounded meaner but they were both ordered at the same time through the same dealer and arrived on the same truck. Mine also seemed to be more suseptible to the fuel percolation issue that was common with the early L69 engines than his.

84 was a weird year for the 4th gen montes

2 engine options i believe

could use the LG4 carryover from '83 (165hp) or you could get the new L69 high output which makes 180hp

they also switched the gears and rearends from 83 to 84 to posi with 3.73's stock

no 80's monte ever came stock with 200hp

www.montecarloss.com lots of info there

I'm pretty certain that SS's only had the L69 and the '83/'84's had a 3.42 axle ratio. Neat site, thanks for the link!

I never saw a stock '85 or newer MC/SS that could run with an '83 or '84. Not certain why but all the magazine road tests indicated the same thing.
