First race I did the three honk, completely screwed the launch, and he pulled his rear bumper to my front right away. 2nd and 3rd he slowly pulled to about 3 feet infront of me, until I shifted into fourth and he started to pull hard (as he was still in third)

We pulled over and he said he wanted to go again, because he didn't redline on the shifts. I asked him if he could do the honks. Finnally took MDs advice and did a 3000RPM clutch drop with the nittos heated up from the last race. Pulled a quick car and ahalf on him. Shifted into second and pulled about another 3/4 car. Went into third and saw him fall way back, and he later said he missed third. I stopped on the offramp and he said he didnt want to go again. We talked later and he said he wasn't beileving his eyes when I pulled away from him like that. His exact words were "I was like, no way this guy is beating me..... damm"

The Ws6 was bone stock, except for a borla catback. My mods are as listed below. I was pretty happy basically running door to door (sans launch) with a good running Ws6. The dude was really cool. If he had had a gear swap and some nittos I would have been in real trouble.

BTW I can't remeber what year he said it was, but he said it was the 2nd to last year from the last year of the F body. That is a 2000 right? The car had 85K on it (compared to my 59K).

 

Awesome man, you have respectable mods, sounds like he would be your typical LS1 driver ripping a nice 13.5 at the track.

Get some gears and REALLY use those radials to your advantage and rip him a huge one next time!

 

I have 3.73s already. Pretty much at full bolt ons.

I was pretty happy because basically we were running door to door thru 3rd. Aka from a roll it would have been fairly even.

Ehhhhh, I think if you went from a roll it could of gotten ugly for ya.

 

^^^really only at high speeds. i ran my buddy's into the ground up to 80...from a roll

 

On the first race, after the jump off the line he got on me he was barely pulling in every gear. I dont think it woulda been door to door from a roll but it wasnt to uneven either.

Good to see some respect for us WS6 owners. Thats what I don't dig about the ricers, they dog both our cars. Muscle car guys are usually pretty cool win or lose. PLus, its more fun to race a good running Mustang than a little import (Those are fun for awhile, but good competition is better!)

 

Grab some 4.10's and some cams for your car and you will really be ready to rock...

i wish that ws6 was a tad bit of a better driver, but very nice kill
