My IS300 kills (updates!)
Was coming home tonight from a friend's place where we watched the UFC fight (AWESOME TITLE FIGHT BTW!!) in my bone stock IS300. I was on a three lane highway and came to a stoplight with a camry in the far lane and a Toyota Matrix next to me in the middle. The light turns green, and I hear the torqueless Matrix wind up his engine and really gun it off the line. He got about a car length on me since apparently we were racing and he didn't send me the memo.
I didn't really have time to kick it into E-shift, turn off traction control, turn on Power Mode, etc., so I just gunned it from like a 10mph roll. By the automatic's third gear I had a good 3 car lengths on him and just shut it down just over the speed limit (~65mph) because I was pulling really hard on him at that point.
I'm not really proud of the kill because I'm pretty sure the Matrix is slow as *****, but I'll chalk it up as a first win! For only 210hp, the IS really surprises me, especially in the top end. It feels a little sluggish in the lower gears, but really starts to wake up in 3rd.
I think this car has a little more in it bone stock, there was a TSB on the ECU programming for my year IS involving weird shifting transitions and power delivery, so I'll have to take it back to the dealer. I think if I reset the ECU and drove it really aggressively for a couple of days it would be much more responsive too. I enjoy driving it like it is right now though, because I drive it like a grandma every day on my commute to get better gas mileage

Thanks =D
All my friends want me to turbocharge it, but I refuse to touch the engine on this car. Body mods and possibly a catback exhaust is all I would consider for it. This thing has to be reliable ^_^

On the way to work the other day, I beat a guy and his wife in an Infiniti FX35 (the SUV). I could tell he was really trying hard too haha... after I let off with about 2 car lengths on him, he gave me the biggest flyby and tore off down the road weaving in and out of traffic.
Then at another stoplight, a chick in a previous gen Civic caught me off guard and we were surprisingly even until the auto tranny kicked into 4th and I put about 1.5 cars on her. That was a case of not being in the right gear for me, but she definitely had me worried! haha
Neither of those were with "power" mode on or with E-shift. Pretty much just a mash of the gas =P

You beat slow cars congrats
really
You need to get an SRT intake with piggy back, Y pipe from XERD, and HKS axle back (forget cat-back)
There ya go
and power mode BAH!
thanks for the laughs
