ORIGINAL: Black GT

I was driving to work on a back road two weeks ago when I saw a newer Vette in my rear view mirror. He had turned onto the same road a ways behind me and when he saw my car he sped up. When he got behind me he hammered it and blew by me (while I had my cruise control on the whole time). Then he went about 1/4 mile then turned left.

What pissed me off was that when he blew by me I felt some small rocks on my face (had the window open) and I'm sure some of them hit the side of my car as well.

It was a younger guy (early to mid 20's) driving.
I see where you are getting at with your post and yes there are always "some sour grapes in the bunch" . LOL

Yea older ppl driving vettes is pretty much a social status saying hey i have more money then you but i don't drive faster then 70 mph passing only when passing traffic lol. O to beat an 88 vette or being close with a 5.0 stang that vette had to be rag out os ****ty driver cuz those things are mean they have different heads and aggressive cam not to mention the weigh difference then the iroc-z's and one handed me my *** one night and i walk on gt's and lx's 5.0's. No i remember a moron running around in a 86 vette was a pos ready for the junk yard actually and was telling me he ran a 10 second quarter mile i laughted so heard i was crying lol. then after i got done laughing 5 minutes later i was leaving hes like where ur going i have to leave cuz i can't stop laughing at u and ur car he was pissed. If i remeber right i believe the vettes had angular heads on the TPI motors and ports where a lil bit bigger. But look at it this way man u take the money they spent on their vette u can make a car that is even faster then that damn thing and have some money to blow on something else man. Don't sweat it. Its like a cavalier or civic trying to race a GT or SS its just retarded unless u got some ching ching under da hood. Nice Stang tho i like how the rims look on it

99% of Vette owners won't race, the one you ran into was very atypical.

+1. My dad is the only vette guy around here that i know will race someone.

And i hate to say it. But the majority of vette owners dont know **** about cars. When I go to corvette shows with my dad it is usually nothing but a bunch of old guys, who have a bone stock corvette, that only bought the car b/c it was a corvette. And when you try to talk to one of them, they dont know ANYTHING. My dad put a few exterior mods on his vette and everyone kept asking him what "package" he had??? WTF? DUH!! It's aftermarket...

I agree on the older people owning Vettes as well. I still have yet to see someone younger than 40 when driving around in mine. And they always want to wave, before I can even recognize the car, some old person will shoot their hand up in the air and start waving, and look all upset/angry when I don't instantly wave back. It's hard to swap to Vettes and waving to all those damn people when you've had a Stang for so many years. It hurts to see them just driving around town stopping at grocery stores though, instead of being used to their potential. Not saying everyone driving one (or any other "fast" car) should be flooring it in traffic all the time, but that's a lot of wasted potential if you ask me. What a shame.

I agree with the potential part. There should be a Old Folks package from GM that gives them a V6 or something or a weaker V8 with good gas mileage. They only cruz em then they don't need the horse's and if they do it'll be like a once in a million year deal so don't really matter if they win or lose. Like the dealer i'm buying my T/A from has a Vette don't know **** about it but what he read in the browsure(spelling?) and i start talking about vettes lol he gets his little vette book out and opens it and starts looking up info and hes like ahh yea ur right blah blah. He doesn't know the difference between an LS1 or LT1 lol. Was telling him about this Z06 vette i saw and he didn't believe the one i saw had 405 on the side of it i believe it was an 05 or earlier one. But he got in his little book again. Hold ppl are weird. Buy a vette for grocery shopping or picking up younger women??? I don't know me and my first we swore that when we become old farts that we would race young ppl on the street if they came up to us a revin hehe.
