Actually I was using crank numbers, 350 for the LS1 and 260 for the 2V 4.6L. I dunno if that 260 is accurate or if it's a bit underrated, new edge guys who have dynoed their cars when stock could shed some light.
I meant 350 crank x 15% drive train loss is sub 300rwhp... so realistically its a touch higher than 350.

I am taking this not by so much a dyno... but, I take this as real life experiance. Before and after gears.. win, lose or *** kicking - I don't think i've lost the launch to more then 1 Fbody, and that was my buddies that had suspension and d/r... whether or not they passed me - I think almost every Fbody i've raced in my 2v played catch up.. that's what im basing my experiance on.. oh and driving a couple here and there.. I was very dissapointed in the low end power of the C5 LS1 Vette I drove..

I have a lot of respect for the LS1 motors... to bad they make crap horsepower down low (FOR THE MOST PART!!!!) dont feel like getting jumped, lol

15% is a good rule of thumb for an automatic Vette or F-body, but automatics oftentimes don't quite put down 300 rwhp. Assuming 350 at the crank and a 15% drivetrain loss, the rwhp should be 297.5. That sounds reasonable. I wouldn't be so bold as to say that it actually makes more than the 350 rated for the Corvette.

I drove one, I wasn't impressed. It was a 02' automatic. Great power up top, but it didn't seem to move that much down low... Just because your car makes good dyno numbers doesn't mean it moves from a dead stop. I don't know, maybe it has something to do with the fact, that only other Vette, I drove was a souped up z06 or the fact that i had just drove a cobra that would've cleaned it's clock, or what. Once I hit higher rpm's... it did shoot me back, but the car feels hesitant down low... atleast to me. I have only raced a C5 in my Cobra, and that's not a good measuring stick... I left him like he was standing still... but then again my car isn't very stock. It is, what it is.. I just know almost every Fbody i had raced, has always played catchup... like i said i never got to race a Vette, with an inferior car.. so it is what it is...

If you have no problem taking an fbody racing a vette would be pointless..

It's hard to believe you live in Florida and have still raced a few dozen f-bodies and not one has outran you. You're only making a bit over 400rwhp....which would take about 360rwhp or so from an f-body to run with you.

You had your car at the track yet?

they also have right at 60 more cubic inches of displacement than us....

It's closer to 70 more Cubes, and more than Litre of displacement... It's a pushrod, so it's not quite as efficient though...

I bet the driver knew how to drive..

probably just didn't know how to drive, that WS6 should made you and your gf go out for pizza. there's gotta be some work done to that 2V to even come come close that pontiac
Oh yee of little faith.. I bet you don't know how to drive correctly.. I've been able to stay pretty close to LS1's w/ out too many mods done to my car..

lol no you didnt read it right... I said that i've had my butt kicked by Fbodies in my GT, but they all had to pass me... lol - i haven't gotten to race one in the Cobra yet... I know more then a few LS1 guys that would clean my clock just never ran em - never a time or place. in my 2v i had raced ls1;s that i took off the line and held off for a little bit, and others that i took off the line, and that was the absolutly only time i was ever ahead in that race, lol... I've lost to my fair share of LS1's in my gt, but never got a fbody in the cobra yet...

Also, I might have 415rwhp or so (in 95 degree weather), and i also have 450lb ft of torque - while im sure there are quite a few LS1's that will out run me... there not on every corner..

lol yes I have had my car at the track... ill leave it at this i trapped around 110 (forget exact mph)... and had a 3.5-3.6 60"... that's what i get for taking a car that makes that much torque on crappy street tires, with a burnt out clutch...for obvious reasons, I "lost" that time slip... and the first time i ran, I had t/c on... so yeah... im getting me some d/r and ill rerun it in the cool weather... I just know i've beaten cars that run mid to high 12's in the Cobra so far... M3 with something done to it (watched him run on the track, and ran him on the way home) and that Corvette ZR51 or whatever the 400hp C4 was called... If i ever learn how to launch this car, im sure it'll be something nice when i get done with it

I don't see any stock LS1 beating you. An LS2 GTO would get killed as well.

I would think an LS2 Vette would be a CLOSE race with you with either winning depending on who has the best launch. C6's put anywhere from 345 to 360 to the wheels and weigh in at 3179lbs. I believe your dyno mentioned 413 and your weight is over 3600 lbs so I would think it would be a pretty even matchup.

On the other hand you did dyno at 94F degrees . What have you done to your snake so far xxkazp3rrx?

uhmm just a 2.81 pulley, catback and tune. Although I did get my Steeda intake on as of today, and 2.5 o/r midpipe goes on thursday/friday hopefully - then a new dyno once it gets back in the 60's here with some good humidity

EDIT: Also, what kinda torque does the LS2's put down at the wheels? I know my car once i figure out how to launch it will win a lot of races on torque.... not so much horsepower...

Yeah, that fat boy I drive needs to lose weight... maybe one of these days when I get whippled, i'll do a 8.8" swap...
