raced a ws6 last nite
not all about the butt dyno, lol... Maybe it's the gearing... like i said, i think i might've lost off the line to 1 fbody... you know better then anyone.. more horsepower on a dyno, doesn't mean faster on the line - maybe I should've specified what I meant by that... my butt dyno and my eyes on the speedo do tell a different story...
I have no reason to say anything different then what i've seen - i've been blown away by LS1's... but they all passed me after I took the line.. it is, what it is... maybe I just ran into 3 dozen bad drivers, I guess.

Reason... its a PITA to put all that power down on a launch.. not to mention our first gear isn't really all that steep...couple that with 3.42s out the back and you have a first gear that isn't optimal and too much power to launch well on anything other than really sticky tires.
Quickshift_02GT can vouch for the person I am going to mention here... I have a buddy who builds up foxbody mustangs year round. He has been known to pull really good times (say a 13.6) out of mustangs with setups that most people struggle to get 14.0 out of. In the past 3 1/2 years I have seen him do this with over a dozen different cars (even taking the wheel of other peoples cars and besting them by 2 or 3 tenths).
I don't consider myself a great driver so I had him hop behind the wheel after I made my first pass ever in a M6 LS1 (13.5 @ 105mph on a 2.1 60ft) hoping to see him nail a low 13 second pass.
He made two passes after me and quit. When he handed back the keys he commented that he had never launched a car that was so tricky to get off the line. He ran two passes both in the 14s with my car and 102~103mph traps and wouldn't even tell me what he ran (he just handed me the slips and went back to his car).
I had the chance to drive a few different mustangs over the years and I have to admit I am jealous of your ability to just rail it off the line and go. I wish I could say it was the same for us..but it's not. Just some perspective for you.

People do run low 13's and the occaisional 12.9 in bone stock LS1 F-bodies, so it is possible. Some people have hit 1.9 60 fts on the stock tires but 2.1 seems to be the norm.

It's closer to 70 more Cubes, and more than Litre of displacement... It's a pushrod, so it's not quite as efficient though...
I bet the driver knew how to drive..
Oh yee of little faith.. I bet you don't know how to drive correctly.. I've been able to stay pretty close to LS1's w/ out too many mods done to my car..

they also have right at 60 more cubic inches of displacement than us....

probably just didn't know how to drive, that WS6 should made you and your gf go out for pizza. there's gotta be some work done to that 2V to even come come close that pontiac

Whaaat? Wrong.
LS1 weighs 50 lbs less, and are smaller. Let alone producing 100 more HP. The worst and most pointless arguement in the world, but its HP/L is even better, usually higher displacement cars can never win that battle.
Actually I was using crank numbers, 350 for the LS1 and 260 for the 2V 4.6L. I dunno if that 260 is accurate or if it's a bit underrated, new edge guys who have dynoed their cars when stock could shed some light.

It's fairly close, definatly not more underrated than an ls1.

maybe you're just one hell of a driver? Ever thought of that
?? haha... I know depending on the type of Fbody you get, it comes with several gearing options... I don't know about the dynos... typically they keep it to 4th gear and the 1:1 ratio... and just slam it from there, from every dyno i've seen... so I dunno... and the guy that dyno/tuned my car is suppose to be on the cover of 5.0 in April, so I think he knows what he's doin somewhat, lol...
I will say that i've never raced one at the track - only street... and i normally don't get in depth with what people have, so iuno... but i dont think i ran into 3-4 dozen baddrivers... law of large #'s... lol
