Default HP question

My younger brother just bought a stock 1986 drop top 5.0 HO Mustang. What kind of power do they put out and what do they run in the 1/4?
Is the HO motor (I'm assuming HO means High Output) an added option that has superior performance over the 5.0 motors in the GT's and LX's, and if so what are the differences?

Did every 5.0 Mustang released in 1986 possess the HO motor?

Hey C6 Vette. I'm not sure if you remember me but I was telling you about my buddies C6 Vette some time ago. He had twin turbo's put on it and a lot of other supporting mods. He made it to a track up in Indianapolis about a month ago and ran a 10.7 @ 129.. He's taking me out to lunch on the 30th in it so I'll let you know what twin turbos in a C6 Vette feel like unless you already know.. Should be a lot of fun.

bull****!!! my car can run with a mid 14 second car pretty easy. its 200 hp and 285 torque to the crank. theyre maybe 2 tenths slower than a later model speed density car. id say its good for low 15's if its a 5 speed, mid 15's auto.

oh yea, every 1986 mustang with the 5.0 was an H.O. non-ho's are truck motors pretty much.

I'm pretty sure he did but I'll have to check with him on monday when I get my ride in the car.. I'll let you know. All I do know is he put a crazy amount of money into it so I figure he's done the things you would need to do without breaking. Plus, he makes way too much money! I wish I had that problem!

haha, 14 seconds if its an EFI, i thought they were carbd? if so then they will probably loose to a single port v6[8D]

all 86's are FI. and they will hang with just about any stock later model fox body besides the cobra. 85's were the last years for carbs. and i seriously doubt i would lose to a single port V6 considering i can beat my sisters 03 sixxer with ease.

I thought the later Fox body LX 5.0s were faster than the '93 Cobras.
