I can get 2nd I think in the 60s.. maybe a lil bit before - ill let ya kow 2morrow 
... I raced 2nite (see my other thread) out of 2nd and 3rd gear... if im up around 4k in 2nd gear doing 45mph or so.. and i slam it, im fine and my tires are crap with lines in it, lol. 2nd gear is so nasty though... I took a bus length before I got out of 2nd on a car that's no slow by any means, lol - the same car that when i was in 3rd, it took me a lil bit to actually leave him...

i believe that. but how high does 2nd gear go ?? mph wise.......he said they started @ 60mph....who knows what happened. and plus, oh Danny boy has said b4 when he shifts to 2nd, he has to pedal it, but then again, i think hes on somewhat bald tires.......i dont remember....

The pretenders are every where. I ran across a S197 today on my bus route and it had Shelby written in above the left tail light , was black in color with no stripe. No GT 500 lettering anywhere. Yes it was wannabe Shelby. Getting back to your story maybe it was a 99/01 Cobra with a couple fouled plugs.

i know of a guy where i live that has a white "fobra". took the spoiler off and put on a 03 cobra bumper with some chrome cobra wheels (looks pretty good actualy) but it is in fact a completely STOCK,filter and all, 00' gt. i tell everyone that is not real and that the guy knows nothing of mustangs in general(which is true) and he gets smoked by EVERYBODY and their grandma and is known as the slowest "cobra" around.

Gun... tested it while i was cleaning her... I shifted into 3rd in between 65-70mph... i probably could've gotten up to a solid 70mph maybe 1-2mph more - it was a couple hundred rpm under redline...

it was too dark to see the hood but maybe u guys are right about it being an 99/01. didnt think of that. its hard when u see those round fog lamps and the irs exhaust cause suddenly u think TERMINATOR!
