well last night i was headin down to greenville to meet a fellow MFer and cruise around a little. as i cross the bridge to bridgeton, a 03/04 cobra goes by me and accelerates hard as he passes. his exhaust note was LOUD so i knew he had work done. so i just keep cruisin cause i knew id get burnt but my friend starts sayin "you gonna just sit there wussy?" so here i go chasing a modded cobra with my mach. haha. anyways he seemed real cool as we kept passing eachother and messing around for miles and never really raced. then he pulled next to me and i heard him downshift so i downshifted as well. i think we were doing about 60 and i was in 3rd. we both punched it at the same time and we dead even and at the top of 3rd i pulled away hard. something had to be wrong with that fine peice of machinery because it didnt make sense to me. it sounded like it was running good and didnt look beat up at all.

i know they usually dyno somewhere around 375 rwhp and i am no where close to the 300 mark yet with just my bolt ons. so i didnt really take this as a win.

i dismissed it had he was in the wrong gear or something was terribly wrong with his car.

really.....are you POSITIVE it was an '03/'04 Cobra ?? cuz, really, 3rd and 4th gear....those cars are GONE. and if he had exhaust work, im sure he probably had a pulley too. at least. but, maybe he missed 4th.......who knows. too many things can happen when street racing. maybe they just let out of it. oh well. btw, your Mach looks awesome.

 

Sounds like a re-badged GT or not a Terminator. Like GRN said, 3rd gear those things are gone.

Did you hear a sort of Whine when he got on it or just the V8?

i believe that. but how high does 2nd gear go ?? mph wise.......he said they started @ 60mph....who knows what happened. and plus, oh Danny boy has said b4 when he shifts to 2nd, he has to pedal it, but then again, i think hes on somewhat bald tires.......i dont remember....

 

Maybe it was a 99/01 with some bolt ons, that would seem like a much more realistic race.
