how do you get the best acceleration
I just bought a 2002 GT Convertible, 4-speed auto. Just curious how to get the fastest acceleration from a standing stop. I was told to deactivate overdrive, leave traction control ON, and just stomp the gas.
dont just stomp the gas or you wont go anyways. THe best way is to hold the break and the gas together, kinda light on the brakes though.. hold it just to that point where you can feel the tires moving a bit.... when the light goes green dump the brake, then get on the gas more. It will roll you into it a bit so you dont spin as much.
Or get stickier tires and a stall.. same effect just a higher launch.

traction control off, i usually leave the O/D alone too, all turning off O/D does is keep you from going into overdrive, which dont happen at WOT anyhow. If you leave Traction Control on, your engine will bog
