Yesterday i raced two cars. One was my friends 1986 camaro iroc Z-28 (305), he was behind me and he was up my A$$ and i knew he wanted me to go. So i did from a red light shifting into second and then in 3rd i really started getting away, by the end of 3rd i was about 5 cars ahead of him at which point i stopped. Mind you though, i did start infront of him... Either way he said he was pinning it and i was walking away from him. Next race was a little silly. Some guy in a Ford Ranger... i dont know which engine ... was weaving through cars so i decided to follow. Ended up at a red light with him and then went. About the same off the start cuz i didnt even launch it... pulled a littlle by the end of 1st gear, 2nd gear i was a almost a car ahead and then 3rd i was gone. I notice than when i get into 3rd gear my car really gets going. Oh and for those of you that dont know my car is a 2002 3.8 with Motoblue UDP and a CAI (Manual Transmission) and some other minor stuff that im not gonna list cuz someone will tell me off for listing them haha. Now here is the questions. My freinds got an Audi A4 2.0T and its automatic and he wants to race me in the spring for $20 (Im putting my car away for the winter). Its completely stock. Were gonna race from roll so i cant really screw up the launch. His car has 200hp and 210lbs torque i think and it weighs 3600lbs or so. I guess the numbers make sense... i probably have more hp than him and definately more torque. Plus my car is lighter. Though he does have the advantage of a 6 speed automatic transmission... dont know what to expect because it feels pretty quick. Whatt do you guys think? You were right about the outcome of the camaro race so im asking you again haha..

Well... I guess mostly him just putting the pedal to the metal and letting that 6 speed auto do its work... while im hacking away at my 5 speed manual lol.

 

if he does that with an auto then youre gonna win. there are some tricks that make autos shift better and quicker that a lot of people use. watch out for those guys, they can be as fast or faster than a manual... my car is MT and im saying that, cuz i used to race my 94 cadillac sts before i got this

 

haha no not this guy. He dusnt know any tricks... hell probably slap it into tiptronic and race me like that. Also were racing from a roll so i dont have to worry about that awd car destroying me off the launch.
