Nice kills, but like others have said, you shouldnt be wasting time and gas on these cars. Thats kinda like me going out in my z06 Vette and huntin down 1.6L SOHC non-vtec Civics, and braggin to all my friends about, it just aint right, LOL.

You shift at 7000 on an old small block?
Clevelands are more track racing motors, and take to high RPMs very well. They are also quite different from Windsor V8s as far as SBFs go. Not surprised at all. Revvy motors indeed.

Oh well that's interesting to know. Like I said I don't know much about the "old school"

I think I woulda just laughed at those sixers and told them to bring money or go away. Ya old school motors at high revs sound like they are going to eat something. The one we have in the Nova was Garunteed safe at 8k by the shop that did the bottom end. We still have the shift light set at about 6900. Scared to wring it up too high.

just thought id list a few of my kills in the past couple weeks. one was a brand new v-6 mustang, i didnt even get out of first gear. next was a gen-iii v-6 camaro, i shifted below 4000 each gear(i normally go to 7000) and blew his doors off. next was an acura integra, i actually had to hit second with this one. of course i was a car length behind him when we started and then i had to get in his lane so i could go strait through the light. well happy thanksgivin!
Not exactly a list to be bragging about is it? A race with a car in just first, is this a race? A V6 Camaro, ummmm ok and then the mighty Integra... None of these cars are worth the gas wasted, not to diss the new V6 Mustang but come on... as for your parts lits, doesn't really explain how it revs to 7,000rpms let alone make power to 7,000.

How about some cam specs, whats been done to the heads, stock exhaust manifolds.... right then, makes perfect sense. If this is a C motor with the little you're provided it ain't making power at 7k sorry to raise the bullsh*t flag but the past few days I had to hear my sisters boyfriend claim he has an 8 second 2000 Cobra just because he bolted on a Supercharger, I've been knee deep in fish stories this weekend.

Race a real car, then do some braging, at least something that might be in the 14's.... that would be a start.

Not to 7,000, I've had a few, they did rev well but not to 7k, 6400rpms sure but not 7k and not with stock manifolds that Ford used on that motor. In stock form the Cleveland wasn't exactly a potent mill, with the addition of a good intake, cam and a few other things it was ok, but it didn't spin to 7k (can be made to, of course) and with what this guy has said isn't pushing a 3700lb car into the 7's in the 1/8th mile.

What made the engine great was what could be done to it, 4bolt mains, great heads, it was a great foundation but.... now the 351C in the Pantera, different story.

Damn, memory is kicking in, but I'm going to let the originator of the thread correct me on where I may be wrong here.
