i made a post last sat night that my thrill of running was gone, but tonight on my way home i saw my rival who i have yet to run. i have the sallen s/c which is in my sig at the bottom, and my rival has a black 06 gt with a vortec and intercoler and he whole nine yards, he is running 10 plbs and i watched him dyno 490 to the ground. well he kept on talking crap and what not but we never would run into each other. we live in the same part of town so i new it would happen sonner or later. well tonight it went down. on the main road to my part of town i see him turn my way, ive got my girl in the car and to of my buddies behind me. he comes up to me rolls down his window, and him and his buddy smile and yell out, r u ready. and im like what the hell. i told my girl shes about to watch me get beat for the first time. well 3 honks and i immediately jump on him. we stated in second, and by the time i reached the end of third i had a length, and then i hit fourth so fricken hard i broke traction, i swear, ive never broken tires hitting fourth before, and it was over. i won. so then he wants to go again, and to make a spectacular story short, i pulled him again. i know i maight get some haters but i feel good, and my phone just rang and its my buddy calling me to ask me to bring the lightning out and tow him home, apparently he just sent the rod through the block, so you all be careful, its 132 am. and im out

dam, i just got back and my buddy has a hole in the block the size of a fricken orange, makes me think a little, well thats all im bout to hit the sack. im just so fricken stoked about my kill. cant wait to see him again and hear what he has to say

 

So you're making 410 rwhp and you beat someone with the same type of car putting down 490? Does your car weigh 1000 lbs less or something?

oh yea the only thing i could think of is he was retuned a week or two ago, i was tuned in 99 degree wether, now its like 30 or 40 degree wether, so im sure ive got to get retuned

The saleens have a very linear torque hp band. You can make power a lot earlier, and it stays there. I raced a buddy of mine in a new edge with a vortech, he dyno'd at 400, this was when I was at 330whp. I could always get the jump on him and stay infront of him. He would slowly creep up on me, but it took up to 100+ mph. I think the twin screw design really helps.

What were the details on your buddies blown engine? how much hp? what kind of car/motor?

 

he has an 06 gt, vortec w/intercoller and and 10 psi, he put down 490 a couple weeks ago. i know he has a steeda short throw and mac off road x pipe, other than that i know as of to weeks ago he had stock manifolds ans muffs
