As I was sitting at a stop sign yesterday waiting to go left, I see a 2000 SS Camero coming up. It's a nice looking car, dark green with the hood scoop. He puts on his turn signal to turn beside me, and as soon as he gets it straightend out he revs and punches it.

I never provoked him or anything.

Why is it that these people always do that while going in a completely different direction than you? I can't count the numerous times I have had cars come by me while sitting at a light or stop sign and just gun it.

I have never been one to start a race or rev at another guy sitting at a light, but have never had anyone do that back while going in the same direction as I was anyway.

I just don't get it.

I don't see why they should feel intimidated. As I said before, I have never rev'd at anyone without being prompted first. I can see sitting at a light when someone pulls up and you both give a glance like you know what's up, but otherwise I try to not provoke people.

I know that I wouldn't want someone doing that to me with my wife and daughter in the car.

I like looking at nice cars though. Maybe I look too much.

Now if I'm by myself and it's an open clear road.....well that's a different story.

Seeing as though you were driving an '04 Cobra, did you scream past him and show him that not all Mustangs are turds?

No. At the stop sign I was sitting at with traffic and all, it would have taken an act of congress just to get turned around. I figure I figure I will bump into him again when the time is right. Same thing goes for the WS-6 that has rev'd at me twice while going the other way. I respect these cars, but the drivers can be a@$es sometimes.

I have to admit, it's a mean looking car with a custom paint job. It's red with a black hood. Hell, it may be a carbon fiber hood. I have not seen it close up.

After my pulley swap this weekend, I may just cruise around and see if they turn up.

Maybe... he felt like punching the **** out of his motor for the hell of it?

Don't take it as an act of aggression, just smile and be on your way knowing you got to hear what an LS1 sounds like. Whats the big deal?
