Dodge Durango

luckily, there was no early 2000s hemi durango...
i own two vehicles with 5.9s. one is my winter beater, and the other is the missus 94 ram. with very basic mods it ran 14.80s...and the engine is stock aside from a TB and headers. everything else from the intake manifold to the oil pan is stock. there is no "chip". he has to replace the whole computer, which i have done with ours. i suppose that he could have bought a computer, then bought a hand programmer and tinkering with things, but its not going to do enough to get him into the low 14s.
i dont recall what gears they came with, but it is probably something like a 3.55...
the curb weight on those is around 4500lbs, and her truck weighed in, right off the track, at 4351. he probably also has 4wd, which means more weight, and more drivetrain loss, although if properly used, it could give him an advantage in the launch.
in short, if i was out and about in my fiancees truck, and a durango with exhaust rolled up on me, unless i heard a whine i wouldnt even worry about launching hard (kenne bell makes blower kits for them, but ive only ever seen one) ...and your car should at least run 14.80s...although ive seen worse here.
smoke him.

yeah..the mazda 6's arent fast...
as for the ram, the 4wd models weigh quite a bit more...also, is it a quad cab? before we got her truck to the track, we raced it against my DD (which only runs 15.9s) and by 70, i couldnt read her plates...on the track she beat my DD by over a second...then i ran her in my white car and it was a different story...
