i know what ya mean, but don't you dare tell me its something i wouldn't understand. there are things i have that i worked many times harder to get than you did for your car
. i can respect the hell out of someone who works jobs and does school to pay for everything, as some of my best friends did just that, but there are things in life, even at an early age, that are much harder to obtain than money, and though i can't go into details, you'll have to trust me on that.
ps--i've got about 8-10 grand of my own cash into my car, not including gas, maintenance, and insurance that i pay for, so i do in fact "understand" though maybe not to the degree that you do.

WAYYYY off topic, but what they hey...
My parent's were able to buy me an $1800 Dakota when I was 16, and it never ran right, so I could never drive it (Well, far anyway) That was the best they could do, they couldn't afford to have it professionally fixed. After that truck I bought a Celebrity for $300 and painted it myself (A crappy job, but at least I put my own sweat into it) Long story short, I didn't live in a nice house, my parent's couldn't buy me a nice car.
I'm now 25 and just now able to afford this 02 GT that I have now. (Woulda been a bit sooner, minus that whole marriage then divorce thing) Now I have had girlfriends and friends who have been given nice cars and clothes and everything on a silver platter. So far, from what I've seen, I wouldn't have traded families or parents with any of them. They all have had serious issues in one way or another, be it abuse or mild neglect or whatever.
My point is, whereas my parent's couldn't give me the nice things I wanted, I still got everything I needed for life-everything I needed to make myself into the person I am today.
Just because kiddo drives a nice car, doesn't mean his life is all peaches and cream.
Not everything is about money folks.

may not have been an evo. what's that lancer they make that basically looks just like an evo but isn't? anyway, he may have been that one with a nitrous kit. in which case, he would have had a solid 15 second car!
waste of nitrous if he was spraying like you said. he probably had to fill up after showing it off in the parking lot

daddy helped buy my stang, because i was too busy at the time getting a scholarship, does that make me an evil person? i show off when i feel like it, but usually just park in the corner of the lot and put a car cover on.

Just the attitude usually. Someone who has busted their *** to buy what they have isnt usually much of a showoff. They really appreciate what they have because they had to work for it. They dont need to showboat because they are satisfied enough to know they have what they do. A rich kid didnt have to work for it doesnt really care. Its just another toy to him that he wants to show off and feel important to have. Since he cant feel satisfied knowing he worked for what he has he finds satisfaction in showing it off. Just my opinion anyway.
Oh and its great when a kid pulls up next to you with an Infiniti Q35 all hooked up revving his engine and smiling. And then his sister looks over the drivers side and goes " Stop messing around with Dad's car!!"

why does everyone assume that just because a young guy has a nice car their parents helped them with it?
I work my butt off the get the stuff I buy, and it is so annoying how people are always looking over and saying stuff like "frikkin rich kids"

I've done fine getting scholarships, a 4.5 GPA, and buying my own car, etc, and saving up 15 grand or so.

Too busy getting a scholarship to pay for your own stuff? That is retarded...

Parents bought me a 98 Eclipse GS since I've always liked them(before the movie). I didn't rice it out or anything but damn was it slow. I worked at pizza hut and saved up in order to buy a turbo DSM. Bought a 96 GST for 1500 and my dad helped me fix it up for another 1500. It crankwalked a few days later. He knew how much that car meant to me; we sold both of the Eclipses and I drove a 98 Mirage he got for $100. Bought my GT wrecked at a car auction. Payed $2150 for it and right now it's at about $6000(money invested into it including purchase). I used my financial aid money to pay for the car. There's about a 50/50 split in money in this car. My parents aren't rich but my dad tried and did help me with this car. If we didn't buy this car wrecked there is no way I would be able to afford anything like this. No sad story about my parents hating me and me working since I was 13 like so many of these kids. I saved money, the rents helped me thats about it.
Sounds like it was just intercooler spray. Not really a go-fast mod, just a good way to keep everything running like it's supposed to, especially in the summer. Personally I wouldn't have been too worried about this car considering DSM's with body kits and appearance mods are usually a LOT slower than the hardcore guys.

has anyone ever done this themselves? seriously nitrous is expensive enough, but to spray it at every random car that looks over is just retarded. kid needs a live, it probably wasnt even an evo, just a regular old lancer or an OZ edition.
