SVT Focus half kill
Coming home from my mom's tonight, I was racing (more messing around) my wife in her 06 Imprezza with my Legacy. She got behind me because we would soon be approaching our street.
The light a few blocks before the street turned red and I had to stop kind of hard. Next to me - The focus. He looks over at me, the light turns, and we go. The unfortunate part, is that this particular part of the road is uphill....and even when your not racing, it tends to be a pain. Not a huge hill, but 4th gear is usually a necessity. So we go, and I over reved the launch slightly. I was very disappointed when I got home because I felt I could have done much better because my Legacy usually launches like a son of a B----.
Anyway, we go and I only had a car on him......passed my street......it was definitely on now.......now I was only a half car on him. I had to shift to 4th, but I started to pull.
By that point, he called it quits. I put on my blinker, got over, gave him a couple brake taps, and went around the block and headed home.
I would love to have another go at that one. Not exactly a Mustang story, but a race nonetheless.
Thought I would share because I know my wife doesn't want to hear about it anymore. haha. When I finally got home, she was like -"who did you race!" and she got a 15 minute play by play because my adrenaline was still going.
Have a good one.

Over 80 reads and 1 response. Friendly crowd to the new guys.
Guess I shoulda raced a mini van or something.
Either that or I need to dedicate my life to MF so I too can have over 1000 posts.

Haha. I don't take it personal. I was just looking to share in my excitement that we all get from a good race. I think their just jealous of my turbo
Its not custom though btw. There were less than 500 turbo 5sp Legacys made in that year which makes it pretty rare. Tack 13years on to that and i'm betting you may have never seen one. I saw a N/A like mine, but man was it beat. No hood scoop/wing and nice plastic hubcaps.
Yeah the old 2.5s are really sweet. I guess those are pretty hard to come by as well. I asked about it when we got our 06. When trades come in, they don't last long.

This guys is modified a tad with the intercooler/exhaust etc, but 12.8 is a pretty nice time.
Stock its 160hp/181 ft-lbs
I would love to take mine to the track but i'm afraid of getting the mod bug. I would much rather put money into the Stang.
