Default First GT500 into the 10's with just boltons!

I got my new New Hot Rod today and they were with evolution performance to test and mod a new Shelby and went 10.46@136 . For those who dont have it and just want a quick rundown.

1st run stock 13.1
2nd just suspension mods 12.6
3rd Catback, ECU tune, custom cold air intake, light wheels and DR's 11.81@121
4th ported blower 11.06@127
5th race gas, custom ice water intercooler tank, 11.04@127
6th headers, 2.5 pulley 10.83@127 (spinning they say)
7th M/T slicks 10.65
8th 10.52
Last run "wheels up launch" 10.46@136

596hp & 602 lb-ft

Driver was former IHRA racer Nelson Whitlock so I guess there was no "driver mod". Holy shat that sucker is moving!!!! Definately gunna need my turbo fast before they are all over the place. 10.46 with just some boltons and slicks.

Very nice!!!! And based on the crappy stock run there might be quite a bit more left in it,or they just didn't try very hard stock.

It is an Evolution shelby I didn't say that or post the site because I didn't know if it would be considered advertising. A black one. They custom fabbed everything on it. The mag also said that probably by the time this hits print they will already be in the 9's so it should be faster than what was printed they just said it was the first one to hit 10's. It's the black one with silver stripes in the mag. Can't watch the video dial-up pwns me. But I'm gunna try to see it.

Semi-oldish like news, but still- CAI, Exhaust, a ported blower and tune? Sign me up, think we've got ourselves a new Terminator.

man dial up...that's like framing a house with a hammer seems it's the same car. these are the listed mods (copied from the vid) but i can't see it doesn't have a lot of suspension work[&:]

9's! 9.96 @141.45 MPH Pass and Dyno Video Making 664 RWHP and 788 RWTQ with a JLT Carbon Fiber CAI, 2.5" Pulley, 75 Shot Of Nitrous, and a Evolution Performance Custom Tune!

^ I bet its one of Evolution's cars. The one in Hot Rod has a ported blower and no nitrous, it also said EP is gonna start building these things for decent price. Maybe they'll start selling Exhaust/Tune/pulley/CAi kits for these fuggers?

HOW can they bash the car? Really? I agree, someone will say something, but track times dont lie. The guys at EP have solid PROOF that GT500s whoop all kinds of ***. I cant wait for someone to turbocharge one of these things[&:]

here is my issue with all of this GT500 talk...

first...13.1 stock? not impressive. I read another article about how some of them arent putting out on the dyno, and ford is blaming the air filters that they used....come on now. Some of your new "supercar" cobras arent providing the proper dyno numbers (this seems familiar to me) and they are blaming someone else (did firestone make the filters, too?)...and people wonder why the GT500 has no place being mentioned among the viper and the Z06.

second...i see so much of "with just this and this and this you can have the car in the 10s..i cant wait to see some like this on the street"...well, with only an SVS viper kit, you can run 8s with a car that also hits 200 mph...while im aware that the SVS kit costs alot more than a ported blower, headers, etc...we arent talking about just adding on a CAI. most people here couldnt begin to explain how to get the blower off, let alone go through that laundry list of mods. thats like the people going on about how "with just a pulley, tune, and exhaust a terminator can run low 11s"...which may be true, but if its so easy, why do i see SO MANY 12 and 13 second cobras? "a cam and full bolt ons will put an LS1 car into the low 11s"...yet i see plenty of 13 second LS1 cars at the track.

My point is that while there will be nicely modified GT500s...just like there will be nicely modded C6 Z06s, the average GT500, Z06, and viper that you come across wont have anything near that...

clif, youre right that those simple mods would make the car scream, but there are tons of options for the terminators which are very low buck and easy to install, yet there are terminators on this site that are in the 13s. im not trying to talk down to those guys what so ever, but the fact of the matter is that because some of them have a handful of mods and runs 10s, it is a professionally built car, driven by a professional driver...
