A smooth bellow is right behind the MAF. It connects the MAF to the throttlebody. Stock we have this angled piece of plastic with ribs in it. Some guys change theres out to a smooth piece of rubber. I have not changed mine though, because i dont think it makes any difference.

Thank you on the compliment of my car. It looks good and gets good gas mileage, thats all that matters right(lol).

Why would the LS1 have to be cammed? Wally's sig says he went a best of 12.5 @ 108, I went 12.5 @ 110 mphin my SS with only a lid, MAF, and dr's. Of course on a better tire I would hope Wally's car would run much better but with a trap of only 108 I am thinking there is somthing else up, with 400 RWHP he should be trapping at 115 at least, regardless of tire spin.

Since you are blown and he kept up with you, then maybe he was cammed.

yes sir...he prolly just has a good size cam (300 bucks) and a couple bolt ons (lid and free mods and full exhaust for about 800ish bucks). and his exhaust could have been a dual dual loudmouth, not just a borla. im very surprised at your time and MPH. time not so much cause you are on street tires, my z28 trapped 107.5 with a lid, catback, and no free mods whatsoever and i had a 20+ mph headwind. did you left off perhaps at all? is it tuned properly?

Maybe it had to do with my 260 lb body lol. I would like to get some MT ET streets though for the track. I do have traction issues with my stock tires. Or maybe just a wider tire.

usually the trap speed won't be effected to much by traction off the line though...were you spinning all the way through second and third too?

Aftermarket airbox lid, less restrictive. Only good for about 10 hp on a stock LS1.
"only"...............

you do realize that you and your car are both horsepower hoarding butt holes correct???

LS1:
oh here, lets make a really cheap air BOX that lets more air in,, HORAY 10 HP..

Pre 05 4.6:
lets blow some money on a fancy CAI and make a max of 5 HP (click,, BOOM)

Because it is the amazing 3v we have... Look at a bunch of peoples 05+ GT's, they either trap high and have a bad ET, or trap low and have a great ET.

Doodad went 13.41 in his stock S197 GT with a trap of 99 MPH...

A cam/header LS1 would have walked hard.... It was probably just a lid/cat-back car with an average driver.
