Ive been wanting to do a 429/460 swap into a fox for a long time. And for anyone who says 460s are heavy, Fords FE blocks are smaller and weigh more. So are the modified blocks. A 385 series Ford big block(429s and 460s) are GREAT motors to do mustang swaps with, there is no denying this. But its true, it really isnt worth it unless you just want a 460, cant find a good 351W core, or are making it a track only, 9 second or faster killing machine.
plz i had a dd in mine..429 thunder jet..outta 68 thunder bird..stock was 335 hp..and over 400intorq...port heads like dove heads and big valves it allready had high comp at 10.1 a cam intake,carb, and ya have a 450 hp motor all motor no power adder...besides EVERY1 HAS A 302/351W IN ASTANG//EVEN WITH TURBOS / S/C////NOT ALOTTA 429/460S IN A FOX ANY MORE..NOT ON STREET..MINE WAS VERY STREETABLE..MOST FOLKS THAT SAY NO NEVER DONE1 AND DONET HAVE A CLUE WHAT IT REALLY TAKES.. sorry on the caps...traction is a issue only at rack cuz most folks dont race on street..most smart ones
