when I get back home in 2 weeks I can post all the slips you want, and if I can find somewhere to post a vid, then you can watch my ugly car run. But it doesnt have the time show up on the boards, something about southern racers, they want to keep everyone in the dark so they dont post the times.

Bill Putnam ran low 12's on a stock engine 99 GT with bolton's and slicks. He ran an 11.97 with a VT camswap ... this is his daily driver with 110k miles - it was completely gutted though

Stinger, it's time you quit assing around and run a 12. A 1.90 60' on E.T.Streets is pitiful. You gotta launch that car hard, what RPM are you launching at? You get a 1.7 60' and you'll br well in the 12's.
Am I going to have to come to BG and drive that POS for ya j/k about the last part

I don't have a scanner or a vid and you guys probably don't care about what a Camaro can do anyway but for the curious here are my best slips.

Note: Reaction times are on a .000 tree.

stock 4/23/04
R/T........... .439
60 ft.......... 2.115
330........... 5.845
1/8............ 8.849
MPH........... 82.70
1000.......... 11.381
1/4............ 13.521
MPH........... 104.78

airbox lid 4/28/04
R/T........... .134
60 ft.......... 2.130
330........... 5.785
1/8............ 8.759
MPH........... 84.02
1000.......... 11.260
1/4............ 13.384
MPH........... 105.42

My car is an auto with 2.73 gears, the slowest setup they come in. Well, came in. [sm=smiley19.gif]

Tommy dont be embarrased of your 2.73-Auto car, it can still run damn hard. Get yourself a 4200 stall with lock up, long tube headers, and an underdrive pully. Do just a touch of lightening like removing the front bumper support and possibly the rear seats, dissconnect the swatbar in front, and you have low 12's with some sticky tires. It takes a bit to get used to the stall on the street, but with the lock up you wont see a decrease in mileage. Deep gears only help you for the first 100feet or so, after that they arent helping you at all.

I have seen a 2.73 geared 99 LS1 pull down 1.7 and a few 1.6 60 fts with tht exact setup. Check it out on LS1.com its hugger Orange NA stock internal. His best has been an 11.94 at Cecil county. 13.3 isnt bad at all for free mods and a lid. You can smoke 90% of the cars on here.

Thanks Mysterious!
I've been told to get a 3400 stall because it's very streetable and won't hurt the top end so much. I do wanna get headers but I am thinking about Mac midlengths, I've never heard anything bad about them. I'm gonna keep the 2.73's because switching them out would be more trouble and expense than it's worth: gears, bigger carrier, speedo recalibration, gas mileage. I definitely need sticky tires, though. When a lot of guys learn I have 2.73's and a stock converter they assume I can't spin too much; unfortunately they are mistaken. I've got a lead on some cheap DR's, just waiting for the guy to get back to me. I should look into suspension, also.
I don't have any free mods at all but I have removed the rear seat. Not so much for weight savings (they are really light, mostly fabric and foam) but mainly because of cargo capacity, ugly cloth pattern, and not having to drive when I go out with the guys. I have heard of removing the swaybar and bumper support and I know a guy with a lift and a plasma cutter, we might have to see what we can do about curb weight. He has trimmed his Camaro down to 2800 pounds.
I will check out that Camaro on LS1.com and maybe get some ideas.
As far as smoking 90% of the Stangs here, um, I dunno about that, I've obviously got some work to do. Thanks for the compliments and suggestions!

P.S. Sorry about the novel and thanks for reading.
