Badass vette
I didn't race him (and wouldn't want to) but I saw a pretty badass corvette this weekend. It was a Z06 witha 408 built shortblock with worked heads and a cam, and a DS-1C intercooled procharger. They were setting it up to run 4 PSI at first, and ramp up after that. He said they already made like 500+ with 4 PSI and the old stock LS1 shortblock, and he was hoping to turn the boost up later and make upwards of 800 horsepower.

I hear Kenne Bell is in the works with a supercharger that will fit under the stock hood which should be availible sometime in the spring of 2007. All others currently availible that I've heard need a hood swap.
I raced with these guys last season http://www.vettepieces.com/. There a purple/white vette ( here's his car http://www.vettepieces.com/customer_...r_hp_rich.html)that was running 9sec. flat in the 1/4 letting off a few hundred feet before the finish line so that they wouldn't kick him off of the track for not having a full cage. Our track is at like 5900 ft. also, could you imagine it at sea level? Check out their videos.
