So just curious... when u miss a shift.. do u grind the tranny? I dont know ive never done it... I know just lacadaisical daily driving sometime i dont get it in gear right away.. but i just hold the clutch in till its ok... so no grinding..

Racing it may be different... let me know.
It always grinds for me. When i lift my foot off the clutch it gives that quick "VRRRAAAp" and i'll shove the clutch back in, and it'll even grind when I pull it out of gear, but sometimes (even though it's not supposed to) it'll pop back out into Neutral after that.

I thought about this today at work... I have the perfect video to show for this.

This is a supercharged newer Tiburon racing an SRT4. The Tib misses 3rd on the first run and still comes back and walks him. It's not hard to miss a gear.

Why would I lie? I've driven a stick my whole life... learned on one and everything. I've only driven auto's probably about 5% on my entire driving. I've honestly never missed a shift when im in a racing environment...or even just driving fast. Ive never once grinded the tranny of my stang, except doing this.. which i have a thread on, no1 has responded.

Take a look at that... if anyone has any ideas... Regardless i guess ill miss one sooner or later.... but it just seems like in these videos it happends waaay to often.

I drove 8 months on an automatic, the rest of my cars have all been 5 speeds (with the exception of the 6 sp I had)

when i had my 2000 celica i used to miss 2nd all the time when i raced, blew and engine missing 4rth. not with the pony i never miss a gear. ive missed 3rd maybe once but thats about it. missed gears happen sometimes when your racing cause your shifting so fast (atleast i am) that sometimes u get caught up and dont time it right

LoL, this weekend I kinda got back with my girlfriend (shes hott ) we were together for 2 years, but broke up for a good amount of time. Well she loves mustangs.. much more than i do i have to say. She has a 92 vert rusting at her house becuase the engine died.. it was her baby.

So anyway she never rode in my car... and she wanted to see how fast it goes... well i started thinking about this thread lol... i was like wow i never missed a shift ill probably do it in front of her or something. Well i ran through 1-3 1/2 gears didnt miss one but, i wanst shifting terribly fast .

Every car Ive ever had has been a 5-speed too, and I missed 2nd one time really good.. oh it sucked, made my feet tingle somthin shi*tty thinkin about them gears grinding. I was still trying to get used to my short throw. Ive also skimmed 3rd once before too, I really hate the feeling, sad thing was I was just getting out into traffic and not giving it much hell at all. Sh*t happens I guess.
