Default Vids and missing shifts?

I've got a fair collection of street races on my computer... and theres something i dont understand.... how the hell do people miss gear all the time.. i dont understand it.

I have no short of 4 vids saying... XXXX missed 3rd gear or something.
I have never missed a gear in my entire life atleast in a racing speed environment when im concnetrating.. and i really dont think its that hard to not miss a shift. Unless there power shifting? which ill never do to my tranny.

Anyone explain to me what the deal is.... or a people just more incapable of driving that i thought?

Thats people's excuse for losing. I never miss a gear either. Well I did like the first week I had the car, andthen I got used to how they worked. Then I got the Pro 5.0 and missed once or twice till I got used to it and have yet to miss a gear.

Yeah, i plan on getting a pro5 within the next month or two... but not becuase of the shift from 2nd to 3rd.. which i dont see why its a big deal.. cause the shifts with the stock shifter are very long.

But i guess some people are much worse drivers than i thought...

uh... I've missed a gear plenty of times... doesn't make me a bad driver, just means that sometimes the synchros can be tempermental and half way in they can either push the gear back out or put it in gear without a problem.

hmmm I still have yet to put in my skunk2 short throw... I wonder if that'd help... since my shifter is so damn tall.

I've been nervous and missed gears completely or I wasn't paying enough attention to my shift hand and bounced out of gears.

for being only 4 yrs old, my linkage is pretty wobbley, I have at least an inch of side to side wobble when I'm in gear.

There are aftermarket bushings you can buy to fix that sort of thing, but in the end... synchros will continue to go bad everytime you slam it into gear, short shifter amplify the problem because the synchro is built with a specific length of throw in mind. I wish I had kept some of the pics but I've actually seen some bent to all hell Synchronizers. It isn't pretty when one breaks.

So just curious... when u miss a shift.. do u grind the tranny? I dont know ive never done it... I know just lacadaisical daily driving sometime i dont get it in gear right away.. but i just hold the clutch in till its ok... so no grinding..

Racing it may be different... let me know.
