I would like to consider myself pretty well versed in the drag race hobby and in LSx cars. Among myself and about a dozen buudies who all drive f-bodies with similar mods, we all run about the same times. Not to say that I have never seen a poor running LSx car, I have, just that people who know what they are doing can make these cars very fast with little effort. My bet is that if you lived in Chicago or Houston (the two major LSx hot beds right now) your opinion would be different.
Would you say that the majority of LSx f-body cars are driven by good drivers who know what they are doing?Dont get me wrong,I know what those carsare capable of!My buddy has a chevy shop for him & his personal friends who all drive Bowtie but me!All Im trying to say is that not all people who drive stock/mild bolt on LSx f-body cars can actually pull the performance out of them.Same aplies to the S197 guys!I have raced alot of S197s before my bolt ons & NO2 & would leave them bad more than not!Ive raced alot of LS1 & LS2 GTOs and only lost twice! Those two I lost to were freakin awesome drivers! They actually got their car to hook!I ve raced a few Camaros also and have won more than lost but dont post it here due to whats happening now!Is it really that hard for you Bowtie guys to believe an S197 could beat a LSx car?I mean really.?.

Houston modification and street racing scenes are rediculous. People in LA just buy a newer car to get faster, those guys in TX put 1500hp in IROCs for crying out loud!
