How do you know it's a 350, they are 100% identical externally as a 305 block.

It's a 305 with mods it can't handle. If he's lucky, it's a 350 with LB9 or LO3 heads and he's a complete moron. You told us he dyno'd 348FWHP in another thread.

The kid is just blowing smoke up your hiney my friend.

My '02 Camaro went 13.52 @ 104 stock. That is an automatic with 2.73 gears. My g/f's auto with 2.73's went 13.36 stock (factory freak I think). What tranny does the Camaro have? If he has an auto with 3.23 gears he should be a little quicker. If it's a 6-speed with 3.42 gears it may be capable of 12.9 with good conditions and excellent driving. Hope this helps.

No way you'll take an LS1. He'll walk you like a dog. Like everybody else already said, there's no way you put 10 car lengths on a 350 hp Camaro in a stock 5.0, so he's a lying sack of crap, you're a lying sack of crap, or he drives like a sack of crap. Either way you look at it, it's crap. lol.

i hope your friend didn't pay too much for it if the guy sold a 305 as a 350.

well if it is a older style 350 the oil dipstick will be on the driver side, and the 305 will be on the passenger side, and what i mean by older style is the valve covers will have four perimeter bolts instead of the center bolt valve covers

That doesn't count for 3rdgen 305/350's. Dipstick is on the same side, both motors look 100% identical. The only way to check it is to run the numbers on the block. Don't use the heads because many people swap out L03/LB9 heads for L98 heads.

I guarentee it's a stock 305. Stangpower makes a good point about the valve covers, but old 305's came the same way too.
