So tonight i raced a GTP. I'm not sure on the year, but it was a supercharged 3.8liter and i walked all over it. From a roll i beat him several times and from a dig i KILLED him by quite abit. I was really suprised at the outcome, i thought those cars were faster then that.

 

what kind of car do you have? GTP's run simular times to 5.0-npi gt's (trust me I own both) but they fall on there faces hard in the higher rpm's without some work

 

I have seen one run a low 13 with nitrous.

 

stock they are 14.5-15. They are actually pretty quick for how big they are, at least I was impressed when I first test drove mine, but their weak link is the tranny they can't handle all the tourque that the motor is able to produce with very liitle work

 

Ugh, I had a GTP, and I hated that car. It was pretty quick, just poor engineering and craftsmanship IMO. That's why I got rid of it after only six months.[&:]

 

theres a gtp around here that slaughtered this srt4 thast suppossed to be built and running 20psi.

i don't know whats done to the gtp, it looked stocked to me but im guessing its not.

 

I've heard this from several Grand Am and Grand Prix owners with some mods. I guess they're pretty notorious for taking themselves out of gear and slamming it into another gear at WOT when they're making decent amounts of power.

Friend was telling me that a owner in a local GTP club was at the drags and BWAM!... no more tranny and a messed up motor.

 

his car was completely stock, we talked about it when we were rolling side by side and he said "i can almost hang with you until a higher gear and then you kill me" heh, the guy was really nice, he even said almost. Deffinately the truth.

 

Well we can't all afford audi's...[8D]

As long as mine lasts for 2-3 years I will be happy, besides I like bigger cars I tend to fit in them better

I am not huge but 6-3 230 pounds is big enough
