There are pump gas street cars that can do that, but they are very rare. The Hot Rod Pump Gas Drags has seen a couple. Pretty much the fastest street cars you'll ever see.

When I went to my local 1/8th (Evergreen Speedway for Washington state people) There was a '64-'65 Nova that ran 5.5 at the 1/8th mile. I was ****ting my pants. Everyone was like this car is fast! I take a look at it, and i'm like looks normal beside HUGE tires. Then bam 5.5! The car he raced ran a 6.3. My dads worker ran 7.2 in the 1/8th and my dads other worker ran a 6.8 in a '70's Camaro's with a built 402 n/a, No turbo supercharger or n20 all motor 6.8 in the 1/8th while all other cars running close to that time were using N20.

most cars that are set up for 1/8th cant even runout the 1/4. if it was set up to run out the 1/4 it might only be a low 6sec car. which is still fast

Speaking of cages. A guy I know has a 93 cobra (street car) runs on pump gas and runs 6.20s in the 1/8 th with no cage at all. He's been kicked out of several tracks because of it and needs to be slapped imo. BTW his car is in show room condition and he said he would sell it for 10,000 as long as it was to someone that wasn't local. He said he has so much money in it that if he sells it he wants it gone forever far far away so he never has to look at it. It has a 13,000 motor in it.
