First and foremost, i would like to say, **** the Sumitomo tire company!!!

My current mods are BBK CAI, Eibach prokit, custom 2.5" o/r x-pipe, custom 2.5" Catback with IMCO mufflers, and custom 93 octane VMP tune with SCT.

These two runs were on Sumitomo 245/45/17's.

Anything I can do better?

On my best run, I slipped the clutch on a 1500 RPM launch shifted to 2nd at 5500, and powershifted the 2nd-3rd at 5500.

Please let me know.

My best advice would be to get some better rubber and I would also recommend powershifter 1-2 and 2-3...and once you get the better rubber start slipping the clutch around 2200-2300rpms and slowly work your way up to 2600-2800 rpms...also let first gear go to 6,000rpms (depending on what your limiter is you want to leave some space for the power shift)....besides some better tires possibly get some UCA and LCAs and that would also help cure the spinning as well...

 

next mod should be drag radials
2.4, man stock civics can pull that off[8D]

 

Hey my friend pulled a 1.9x on sumitumos... lol - maybe your like me and need a driver mod, haha

best advice is to get better tires... and/or just keep practicing.... I have seen modded n stock gt's pull sub 2.0's on stock rubber... so it can be done - practice makes perfect!

 

His times weren't that bad. A 2.3 60' is bad but at least it isn't a 3.6 60' "Ima hop out the car and make me a sammich as soon as I drive over the beams."

I ran a 9.6 in the 1/8th with the same 60.' I only had some flows so with the X pipe, CAI, and tune I would've ran the same thing. Dude those tires suck bad...hell I was spinning rolling off the line with 275 Kuhmos...

 

haha.. man... but if he was in my car, and probably would've done just as bad.. atleast I had a 2.0 and a 1.9xx 60" in my bolt on GT, lol....
