Default WRX and 96 Cobra

I finally got a chance to race a WRX, not the STi, but still fun. I'm coming back from class down Highway 34 and I catch a light with a black one. It looked and sounded stock and the guy driving rolled down his window. He asked me if I wanted to race, he was interested in seeing how he would do. I agreed, and when the light turned green I launched from 2K. My tires started spinning but the 555's hooked up quick and he was at my side mirror on the 1-2 shift. He fell back and he was about 3/4 car behind when I shifted to third. When I shut down at 85 he was around a car behind, maybe a little more. Not a bad race, don't think I would want to tangle with an STi yet, but what can you do? I have Nitto 555's, BBK offroad H-pipe, Densecharger, Jet Chip, Livewires and other small mods.

And how about the car? What type of car? I'm assuming GT right?

I have a Cobra, WRX vs. 96 cobra. Those things are pretty quick, didn't think it could hang that well, but it did. In the quarter I'd say he would have only been behind around two cars. I'm pretty sure he was stock, might have had something I didn't know about, didn't ask though.

So what do you all think I'd run against a stock WRX, non-STI?

Probably 2.5 cars in quarter, your 4.30 will help you immensely but you and I are probably about the same hp/tq wise so yeah....2.5 cars or so.

I hope to have the Densecharger full kit including carbon fiber for my car by end of day today if I win it on ebay. that should help a little more. I play on buying the o/r x pipe and possibly a cat-back system in the next month. Then in December I'll start purchasing suspension pieces. Come spring time I'll be ordering some Nitto 555r 315's and some rims since I'll need to fit that size of tire in the rear. Any possibilities of running with the STI then?

Yeah, that would probably be a good race. The can run 13.1-13.2 stock at sea level.
