Default 1993 5.0L vs 1970's vette

Was just pulling out of work when this vette decides to pass me on a double yellow and proceed to slow down while infront of me. Silly vette driver, little did he know the road was about to open up to 2 lanes. We come up to the light and im already parked. he pulls beside me then gets a little infront so i cant look at him.

light turns green and he just nailed it. honestly i didnt even floor it, just got next to him, smiled and let it rip. he fell WAY back infact he must have hit the brakes cus he was ducking and dodging me.

i know this vette wasnt in good tune. the mufflers were hangin and it looked pretty beatup. was an older fella and i assume his kid. think those vettes came with a 350 with barely 200hp or something like that? i know they arent the best year vettes in the performance department.

my 5.0L has basic mods (exhaust, intake, gears, etc..)

Depends on the year, 1974 was the last year for a factory BB, but it was still nothing great. The late 70's and early 80's Vettes are turds by todays standards. Good kill

My boss wayyyy back in the day had a '76 vette, completely stock, that could only muster mid 16's.
I'm thinking this was a wake up call for him dude.

Yeah, my buddy had an 81' till a few weeks ago when he sold it. The factory 350 put down 190hp, pretty sad.

This is funny, I tried racing what looked and sounded to be a stock '75 Stingray(plates said "75STING") and I must say, i was pretty disappointed when he wouldnt race. I think my exhaust threw him off, if he knew it was a V6 he probably would have raced

low output smog engine vettes of mid to late seventies should be drivers race against new edge sixers, but would probably get owned by 4.0 stangs and any gt of course.

That's if they're even running right. Old cars like that tend to have 1000000000 miles on them and so damn tired it's a surprise it still runs
