UM? WHAT!?!?
im pretty sure i said there were 65 cars there and 13 were evos....lets do math. 65-13- 10(for the muscle car guys) = 42. 42 out of 65 cars being little four bangers is 65% rice. If theres 4.2 rice burners for every 1 muscle car...thats a ricerville. and Im also pretty sure the question i asked was what could the car have done to it, NOT whether an evo could smoke my car OR whether anyone could flame me when i wasnt pissing anyone off. but i appreciate your input.
My guess would be Nitrous if you didnt hear a BOV. The fat tires should be a tipoff. Most people w/ stock cars will not but huge tires on if they arent modded. People will do that w/ modded cars. A kickass suspension could also help him off the line.
Okay:
Do you kow if he had a KA24 or an SR20?? Stock they had the KA24DE, 2.4 NA. If it wasn't turbo, it prob wasn't an SR20 because he'd be stupid to put in a regular SR20DE instead of an SR20DET (the turbo one). If it was a KA24, there's a good chance he had spray, as those motors have very strong internals from the factory. Their also pretty torquey for 4 cyls. I've seen a few built KA24's NA that were pretty damn quick.

A single nozzle could be hidden anywhere along the intake track. Bottles can be hidden, a popular spot I've seen is inside the driver's side door. A little velcro panel to cover it up, and you can open it without anyone knowing.

alright, my mistake then, i apologize. Would i hear anything with nitrous? ive never actually been in or around a car with the juice being used, and for future reference how would i be able to spot n2o with the hood popped? theres gotta be some way right?
You just have to look for it. If they are well hidden it will take time but, you can EVENTUALLY find it. That is one reason why I will not open my hood for long at all. JD will prob. tell you that if a guy will not open his hood, "Assume he is spraying." That is for the most part true. A lot of people will try to hide the solenoids everywhere but it has to plumb into the intake tract somewhere. Under the CAI is a good place to put it. ALso, look for purge kits too. I have one up by the windshield and am actually surprised that only one person ever spotted it.
Funny story, I am rebuilding my engine and a couple guys come there who I dont know. I am at someone else's place so lots of people are common. They ask me what I have done and I fed them the typical,"oh, just and intake and exhaust." He smiled and walked over to my car and saw my four bank switch and arm switch. "Well, intake, exhaust, its chipped, and you are spraying right???" I just smiled. Cool guy and he knew what to look for. Most people who think they are looking for nitrous neglect to even look inside the car. An arm switch or pressure gauge is a dead giveaway.
