Since i've had my mustang a couple of cars "unofficially" challenged me
by just revving up when they're around me in traffic, havent responded because
my stang hasnt been broken in yet,....the most interesting cars were;
Nissan 300ZX (not the twinturbo version)
BMW M3 (2003 +)
Subaru Impreza STI
i know the BMW M3 is in another league (when it comes to stock cars).
But what about the other 2?... are they in the caliber...could i take them on?

i cant really answer your question stock for stock.. but just with a simple tune + cai ive beaten all 3. As for the sti, my friend has one and we went at it stock for stock when i was just learning to drive... IMO its a drivers race when it comes to the sti.
2003 M3 is 333 Hp and 262 tq. Rated at 13.85 at 105 mph. 0-60 is 5.26
By reading this I would say its a drives race.
2005 STI WRX is 300 hp and 300 tq. 13.8 1/4 mile time and 5.1 0-60
Also drives race assuming stock for stock
The last year a 300z was made was 1995. The turbo was 13.9, the only non turbo 1/4 mile time I could find was 1991 it was in the 15 sec range.
No contest
Hope this helps

Curb weight is 3197 so with that and the 33 more hp I find it hard to belive they run 13.8's But everything I look up for a stock M3 tells me its a drives race. I wonder if its the low TQ numbers.
Also the M3 revs up to 7900 rpm's. WOW! I think the Stang could hang half way down the track since the TQ numbers are low compared to the stang. But I would assume the top end would kill the new stangs

Also a few other cars i'd like to know about:
Lancer Evo4
Lancer Evo MR
Toyota Supra with twinturbo
Nissan skyline GT-R stock
GMC Typhoon, 6.1liter V8. (i've searched for the typhoon on the net and i cant find anything on the 6.1liter engine, but i've seen the engine myself...i dont know if it's custom)
I drive an automatic, so is it still a drivers race when it comes to the M3 and STI?
Also...when i gun the gas,..i feel like it almost takes a full second before the car to realizes it has 2 go!...
does anyone else know if this is normal?

Stock I think you could take it I think there mid to high 13's, but go luck finding a stock one. More than likely it has a pully change etc... and it will eat you up
The titan dont worry about it,Less hp than a lighting and is much heavier

Also a few other cars i'd like to know about:
Lancer Evo4--Faster than you low to mid 13's easy
Lancer Evo MR--Faster than you low 13's easy
Toyota Supra with twinturbo--Stay away from it. What year? I think the turbo is mid 13's easy so I assume a twin will eat you
Nissan skyline GT-R stock---Stay away from it. Alot has to do with Year and engine. But more than likely stay away
GMC Typhoon, 6.1liter V8. (i've searched for the typhoon on the net and i cant find anything on the 6.1liter engine, but i've seen the engine myself...i dont know if it's custom) I think its a heavy SUV so you should be able to take it.

does anyone else know if this is normal? Tune and CAI will fix that right up
