Default Sunday Race

So this kid at school is alright, but he drives an Eclipse, and always tries to act like he knows a ton about Mustangs (He thought 97 Cobra was factory supercharged). So anyway he was talking about how his car is quick. It's a 2.0 with a whopping 140 horsepower. He said he timed his car 0-60 in 9 flat! I called him out and said I'd run him. I was planning on advancing my timing, running 93 octane with octane booster, loosing the tire and jack, ect. I'm going to put 'er on a diet til sunday. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Forgot to mention that I'm runnin my truck.

Specs:
1996 F-150 Long Box Regular Cab
300 I6
M5OD Transmission
3.55 Gears

I'm going to unbolt my muffler, and I already have a cat gutted. Also I'm taking off my tailgate and other heavy things I don't need. I'm planning on running bumper to bumper with this kid. It's a win win for me. I beat him, it will be on video and anybody that wants to see it will. He beats me, cool. He beats a 5000 lb truck by a car. But to be totally honest with you, I plan on beating him.

Why ruin your truck?? Leave it alone... you can beat him without touching anything.

idk man seems like he might have the weight on you either way. Is the eclipse turboed? Also if you can get some performance parts for your truck before the race like a few boltons i suggest you do it, you might need every advantage you can get. But hope that you win.

2.0 with 140 hp=95-99 RS/GS with the nasty 420a. Those cars are torque monsters

They suck the big time homie. I should know I owned one but then I got myself a real DSM[&:]. Please tell me it's an automatic? If it is just use a bicycle to beat it(I had an auto[:'(]).

If he has a 5spd there is a decent chance of him giving you a good run.

the 300 straight six is a torque monster, not meant for speed. i think the kid in the eclipse is gonna own you, especially if the race goes to high speeds. good luck though!
