I pull to a light next to a large van. Behind me pulls a Dodge Viper. I'm not sure what year but it had a similar hood scoop to what the C6 ZO6 has.While talking to the truck next to himhe lets out a weak rev. I knew it was just bait for me. Anyhow, I throw a decent rev back and then he wallops right back. It was obvious that at least his exhaust was not stock...it was LOUD. It was right about that time that the mexican in the van next to me rolls his window down and asks me to stop because we were scaring his baby in the back...he was dead serious, lol.

Light turns green, I slowly ease out of first and into second waiting for him to pull around to the side of me. Before I knew it he punches it as he comes around my rear. I thought he would slow down at my side but he keeps going. I slam it as he passes my door but I was already at the end of 2nd. By the time I get to 4th he has put BUS LENGTHS on me.I shut down to keep from further embarrassment.

Now he had two things going for him...no passengers (add approx. 170 lbsfor me) ANDa definite jump but still! I couldn't believe how powerful his carwas. Extremely impressive. Inow know whohe his so hopefully I'm able to find his mods...if any. Either way I've suddenly been motivated topully the Cobra. I can't go through another long silent ride home like that one.

 

first off, i would like to say, NICE CAR. i like the ss inserts in the bumper. very nice.

now, sucks that you lost, but, you raced an SRT-10 viper. 505hp/500tq. VERY fast car. plus, u said u added weight due to a passenger, but, u still wouldve lost. bad. just not as bad as u did this time. commendable death tho. plus, his car cost 2x more than yours. i wouldnt worry too much about it.

dude you car is bait for even the 94R/Tvipers.... get pullied and it will still probably be a drivers race with the older vipers.... ported eaton or aftermarket blower if you want to push enough numbers to embarrass them...

I still love that car though, get that beast pullied and cooled

Nice try though - Get a pulley, ported blower and some supporting mods and you won't have that issue :P

 

it was kind of a bitch move on his part not to slow and give you a chance, but i suppose that if he expected you to jump on it right away, he wasnt trying to just blow past you...

im curious as to what year it was...if you see a comparable picture, link us up. youre car shouldnt run with an srt10 viper, but i would say that a well driven terminator would give an older viper a hell of a run.

 

I agree with ROTM... the car weighs 3400lbs - which is only about 200lbs lighter then you - and he's probably putting down mid 4's to the ground... which means you weigh more, and are about 50rwhp short... which doesn't bode well for you - for our cars to hang with the vipers, we really need the top end of 400rwhp...

He probably blew past you because a lot of people look at the Terminators like they do Supras, and Fbodies... they're quick stock,and respond well to mods makingeasy rwhp- but almost none of them are stock, and a lot of them are built, so they'd rather be safe then sorry and lose a race to a 30k car in there 80k car.
