i do have a 72 duster and even though i havnt put in the big block yet, i have compelte rebuilt the entire front suspention and am making a custom wiring harness for my custom interior, the complete new rear suspention is 1/2 built and is going in late spring

i just dont consider cold air intakes and cat backs to be real upgrades

ive been snooping around here for a couple months and from what i have seen, people buy a car and put on bolt ons and talk about doing things like engine swaps, but just end up buy a new and faster mustang and then pay a mechanic $300 to install gears (sorry jake)

im not saying my forum is that much better, its just the type of people that are on it

ours are true fabricators and modifiers- and i dont remember the last time on this forum that i saw somone do somthing custom, 5.0 guys are better, but with the 4.6 cars, its a joke,

Maybe because on a Mustang forum we kind of stay on topic to the late model mustangs. Ever think of that? I am on a few other forums where I've swapped and built more then my share of cars. Mostly older RWD imports for the last couple years, but right now I'm pretty deep in a Big Block 66 Fairlane and we just finished the Motor on my brothers 429 4 speed 70 Torino Convertible. So yeah we may talk about 4.6 mustangs on this site, but guess what guy. It's a mustang forum!!!
I'm relatively new here to this forum too and I've seen some of what you mention so I won't disagree completely with your statement, but you can't group us all together like you did. It's just not a fair statement. It would be like calling all Mopar owners dumb rednecks who drive Dusters because of a commercial on T.V. Just irrelavent.

Wow, the ignorance is amazing, there are a lot of guys modifying their engines and perhaps you didn't stop to think that stock, S197’s, Mach 1’s and Terminators can beat the average Muscle car created back in the day by a pretty wide margin so don’t need motor swaps or big dollar mods to go fast.

Sheeesh the ***** of some people. Stop by Chicago sometime, we'll line you up against a slew of big dollar modifiedmod motorMustangs, many of whom post on here.

Gotta love a mopar... my mom has a 72' challenger rallye 340 she bought brand new. I'd own a new mopar if they made a decent sports car you could afford

Mopar = Move over, people are racing
Mopar = Motor on pavement after race
Mopar = More oil-on pavement after race (ok, not perfect but funny!)

Ford = First on race day, learn it, love it, live it.

Just kidding, I love Mopar's but if'n yer old school gotta give ya a hard time!

m.o.p.a.r.
move over please approaching rapidly

f.o.r.d.
found on roads dead
first on race day... to break

what you can buy a terminater for 20 grand and go 12.9 in the 1/4
or you can buy a 5grand muscle car with a decent body and a small block add some small tuneup parts and run the same

yea, yea the 03 will have creature comforts but, thats just the different of new and old cars-

i cant aford $20k, so i take my $2000 and i will put $10000 in it and run low 11s, pull nearly a g on the corners and stop from 60 in under a hundred feet, plus not to mention, it cool factor is way higher

dont get me wrong, there are plenty of new car out there that can do the same, just depends on the $$$ you want to spend, and your abbilities

i have no money, but plenty of time and tons of skills- my choise is made up

and what kind of a car are you performing these feats in? a dart?

i have less than 5 grand in my car, including buying the 340, running mid to low 12s, but id have to see an a-body that will do all of that on a low budget.

and mopar stands for
My
Own
Personal
Asphalt
Remover.
